- This watch is truly massive and does not feel very elegant at all. I wanted something that would transition from day to night and would be in fashion forever. This will do neither. It's too large for night time, and it's also so large that it's going to become as dated as a pair of 1980's shoulder pads . . . !

Cartier W2601556 wrist watches news:
So, I've had a 1940-41 coral gold filled Ross for several years now, but it was missing the rhodium plated second hand and the crown was yellow. I've been bidding on non-working, poor condition cgf Ross's ever since without success. Well, I finally got one last week with a bid of $58 - just to get a second hand. Bonus - the hour & minute hands are in better condition than the ones I've got, too.
So this is not something that is an immediate issue for me but I do curate a list of watches that I intend to buy and re-order them as my tastes change, while trying to keep a list that in the end will give me a little of everything. As my tastes have changed over the past few years I have gotten more and more into finishing and movements leading the likes of JLC, ALS and Patek onto my list. However I do want to have at least one very basic sports watch that I can be less concerned about bumping or scratching, something that I could wear in the rain or even swim with, without worry (things I would never attempt with a complicated or ultra thin dress watch). I know that the Royal Oak isn't a super dive watch like a Sea-Dweller or Submariner, but is it a watch that could fulfill what I am looking for? I particularly like the plain steel and blue 15300 and find it to be much more attractive than a Nautilus or Submariner but if its not really suited for the role I would have in mind, I would
I had to move this over here from the Rolex forum to hear your opinions. My brand new white ceramic Daytona + 6 month old BLNR + $3K, for a heavily polished Patek 5205g on tang?
Hello Everyone,i was wondering did anyone also noticed that the polishing finishing on the platinum cases are different then the gold versions ? Especially on some of the cases with sharper lines/angels like the 5070 and 5975 cases. Here you see a big difference on the WG and PT versions of the 5070. The PT even looks like a polished used case compared to the WG. You can notice this on every picture of the 5070P comparing with the gold versions. And here a comparison of the 5975P with the 5975G also less sharp polished. But if you compare it with Rolex Platinum versions, for example the Platinum Daytona compared with the WG version. The PT Daytona even looks to be beter finished then the gold versions.Maybe this has something to do with the hand finishing of the cases at Patek ? Because platinum is very hard to work with. But for a brand like Patek and the money you spent on the PT versions, you would think of a better finishing if the cases ?Still love the brand and most of the time the
I love the brushed bezel on this watch and the way the sapphire crystal sits flush with the surface of the bezel.Patek5167.jpg
