I have to admit that I always wanted one of these Mr. Roboto watches from Azimuth. As part of their Mecha collection this large tonneau shaped watch had some interesting complications and was 100% thematically in honor of vintage wind-up robot toys. Prototype designs of the watch has a normal crown, but when it was finally released in 2008 the watch has a "winding key" style crown.The dial of the steel watch looks like a robot face, but it is all functional! The two "eyes" each have discs in them covered in lume as well as lume covered arrow indicators. The left eye is for the time's hours, and the right eye is a GMT time indicator. The power "mouth and nose" window has a small spinning red triangle star as the seconds indicator and a retrograde minute dial for the mouth. The case is 43mm wide and 50mm tall. Incoming ! My first Omega!
Hello everyone. Just picked up this new to me Omega speedmaster 3551.20.00. This is my first and I'm sure not my last Omega ! This watch is really beautiful in the flesh and pictures don't don't do it justice. I've been eyeing an Omega for a little while. I've kind of had this one in the back of my mind ever since I saw an online review of it comparing it to the Rolex Daytona many years ago. This one is now discontinued but a pre owned one popped up locally. This particular example looks like in new condition so I quickly jumped on it. So far I'm extremely pleased with this watch; it feels very solid and very well made. I may update the clasp to the micro- adjustable one in the near future.

Omega Cufflinks
Hey guys,I just wanted to share something really cool with you guys. I took a trip to the NYC Omega store for fun on Saturday, and my fiancee surprised me with cufflinks for our wedding in June. She's the best. I just wanted to share the pics with you guys because they are so awesome.

Your watch at airport security
Just curious to hear what you do when asked to remove your watch?Do you remove it an put it directly in the little plastic box provided by security or do you put it in a carry-on bag so as not to scratch it? Or do you travel with the little green watch pouch provided by Rolex or something similar?I just got mine a few weeks ago and will be traveling soon. Might take the little green pouch/sleeve with me and put it in my carry-on bag just before security.

Boston area service recommendation?
Hi all-I'm approaching the process of sending my watch in for service. It's a 1988 168000 that I bought new and likely will send it off to Rolex as I have in the past. I was considering having them replace the bezel insert as there is missing paint on the top of the triangle near the pearl from some kind of 'encounter' over the years. It's not that big of a deal, but since I'm going to the trouble and expense it would be nice to have the watch looking it's best for the next 30 years.After spending some time here and learning a great deal, I've concluded that maybe it's best to replace the insert prior to sending it off as I'm told that Rolex doesn't return the original parts and I'd like to keep the original insert.I've been poking around and while I haven't found one yet, expect that at some point I may be able to find a period correct replacement. I think I understand the differences in the number font, i.e.- old to new style, especially in the '4' shape, so will keep an eye on that.
