Hello my name is Tamra I recently acquired my grandfather's watch (a Hamilton Brandon). As I wanted to know more about the watch I started searching the net and after a while I found this forum and trolled the old catalogues till I found the watch. You all have created an excellent resource for Hamilton watches. To be honest I had not heard of Hamilton watches before. That could be because I could never afford them, but I do have a thing for mechanical watches. So when I came across my grandfather's watch amongst old keep sakes I had to do some talking to get my mother to let it go. I promised to bring it up to scratch. It didn't work so I took it to be fix, when I was informed that the parts for this watch are not easy to come by. It needed a balance and he managed to find one which he told me was the last ever so try not to brake it. So what I need now is a replacement crystal as the old one is scratched to bits. Does anyone know where I can order one that can be shipped to

Seiko: minute hour hands stop while watch is running
H, I have a Seiko sportsmatic 5 day/date 6619-8050 from mid 60s. The minute and second hand periodically stop for 5-10minutes and then restart while the second hand keeps moving at normal rate. I checked the cannon pinion under the hour wheel and the tube part is tight on the gear. Minute and hour hands move normally with the crown stem for time setting. I cannot see anything else causing the problem and think it is further inside the movement. Any ideas or help on this?? Thanks

1960's Omega
This watch has a great history: my grandfather acquired it in the mid to late 1960's and unfortunately passed away in a plane crash while wearing the watch. The watch was recovered from the crash and my grandmother kept it in a box for about 50 years. I'm a watch nut (duh), so when my mother found it among my grandmothers things a few years ago she gave it to me. The watch was incredibly in near mint condition and I have kept it pristine. It just got back from its 5 year service, enjoy!
