Panerai‘s newest Luminor Submersible model debuts a new technological innovation for the brand: a special case construction that ensures a high level of resistance to the magnetic fields, omnipresent in everyday life, that can disrupt or even stop a watch’s movement.The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio-47 mm (referred to more succinctly as the PAM00389) has a specially designed internal case made of soft iron, which encloses and isolates the movement, forming a Faraday cage that diverts the flow of magnetic fields. We were super excited about the Anstead Oceanis kickstarter that happened a few months ago. We thought; finally, someone is using kickstarter to fund a watch that isn't a piece of tech, but rather a well-designed and affordable watch with styling we can get behind. The Oceanis is a bit vintage, a bit tactical and all around masculine and rugged. The technical dial is balanced beautifully by the steel bezel that sports a fierce, but practical toothed edge. Best of all, it's an auto powered by a Seiko NH36a movement that costs about $400. Hamilton Advice Needed Please
In going through my father's estate items, I ran across this watch. As you can see the case is broken.I am torn as to what to do. The watch was actually my father's 25 year service award although it really does not have any sentimental value to me. It is engraved on the back with his name and company.Is the case repairable where the one piece is broken off or would I need to look for a parts watch to find a case?Is it even worth it or should I just sell it as a part's watch? The watch is keeping perfect time (at least for the last 24 hours).Thank you in advance to the group.
