Chopard Chopard 11972 wrist watches news:
New this year from H. Moser & Cie is the high-end Moser Perpetual Moon watch. Perfect for people who love the look of H. Moser & Cie watches, and want a moon phase complication. Here the interesting stuff is in the fact that the moon phase indicator doesn't need to be adjusted for 1000 years, and that the watch has a small, centrally mounted 24 hour hand. Not my top choice for an H. Moser & Cie piece, but not half-bad. Priced a bit north of $30,000 in 18K rose gold.Read my H. Moser & Cie Moser Perpetual Moon watch article at Haute Living here. Saw one on a wrist and liked the combo. Anyone know of a model with the color scheme?
So I get back from my little vacation to find some packages (watch shaped of course!) and the first one I open is this little project Illinois HudsonIt was in pretty sad shape when I got it and it went right off to my guy for a new lease on life. After opening it, the first thing I thought was, Oh man, this could use a cool bandahhh the next package.I had ordered an NOS vintage ostrich from Scott at "Times of Plenty" and I think it looks pretty cool!Made in England...Buckle is stamped 1/20 14k (1/20?)Ready to wear!
I pulled out my small collection of vintage watches a couple of weeks ago and realized that I have a bug to learn more about these and add more to my collection. The first is my Grandfather's old Elgin Gold Pocket watch. He worked for Railway Express and wore it in his vest pocket . I remember him winding it everyday at dinnerphoto16.jpgThis is my Dad's watchIt was a gift from my Mom when he returned from WWII in 1946. It is a Rensie(Anyone know anything about this)photo.jpgthis is a 1959? Bulova (L9) that was given to me as a high school graduation gift in 1958photo2.jpgThis I purchased in 1968-69 in Taipai on R&R from Thailand during the Vietnam war. It is a Seiko Navigator Timer, and many of the aircrews wore these.photo12.jpgThis is a Bulova Accutron Quartz that I got in 1977it as manuf in '76 (N6) and is not a tuning fork movement.photo13.jpgThey all work and keep relatively good time. The worst is the Seiko Navigator which loses about a minute a day.
Just picked this watch up today while nosing around the department store. I didn't know Timex made automatic watches. I think this is a pretty sharp looking watch, i'm quite happy with it for the price that I paid. It's got a screw down crown, and a hacking movement that can be manually wound. This is not much of a proper introduction, I just found this place a couple days ago. I've been enjoying looking around this site, here are some shots of my other watches.
