- I love the watch and design. However, within a few months of purchase, the color on the leather band had badly faded. I was quite disappointed, since I now have a snazzy watch with a very, very pale, washed out band.

White GMT Returns Home w/ LOTS of pics!
Well it got here as told and two weeks early!It cost me $47 for insured shipping of $2000...they shipped it back for free...not too bad $50 for a service and cleaning and they included all these cool pictures.I took the unveiling pics of the box but the pics of my poor GMT in pieces and parts are from the watchmaker and are not of the bestest quality...so without further adieu...Here it is...(after removing it from a box)Here it is all shined up and the work order stating the following was done: 1. the watch has been repaired2. we have given your watch a complete overhaul, including new: mainspring, crown, gaskets, and reverser** what is a reverser?The following are the pictures from the repair facilities.Hopefully you guys can enlighten me as to what's going on in these pics.BTW this is through Costco.

2010 is coming to a close, so it's time to record the changes you've made. I'll start, and I'll try to keep the comments short and to the point so I won't overload the server.INIt was a busy year, and a VERY GOOD one. I snagged 3 watches off my Top 5 Most Wanted list (so noted below in each description). Last year I gave up trying to impose limits on myself after Rob said just do what make you happy. Sage advice that I may have went overboard with. 1968 Omega Seamaster caliber 321: Most Omega collectors want pre-moon Speedmasters with this famous caliber. Not me! This was #5 on my list, and actually was found in December of 2009 but didn't arrive until January this year. You don't see these puppies very often. 1960 Omega Geneve caliber 562: Talk about luck! If I didn't have Omega's book "A Journey Through Time" I would not have know this watch existed. When it popped up for sale for a very reasonable price I made a quick check of the Geneve section and pounced on it. I adde

I'm thinking of purchasing a watch as a gift for someone and I'd love to get some recommendations from the forum. Here's the criteria:¡ª Preferably an automatic¡ª Fairly easy to read dial (for older person)¡ª Something solid. This person likes watches but isn't a collector. The watch will get a lot of real-world wear.¡ª Preferably $500 and under.Let's hear some thoughts!

On the fence & looking for opinions
I've been planning on purchasing my first AP since late last year, but have changed my mind several times. I'm not currently in a position to buy 2 different models, so one will have to satisfy me for a while.Here are the favorites in my price range, in no particular order:RG RubbercladSS 44mmCarbon 44mmCarbon DiverI also like the Diver & several of the new, updated 42mm versions, but think a stainless bezel will eventually disappoint me since I tend to scuff my current watches pretty easily. Of course these are also a significantly lower entry point as well, which isn't horrible either.I haven't tried on a Carbon 44 or even seen one in person, but have tried on the others. My wrists can support both size and weight of any of them without discomfort. My only concerns on the carbon models are that they are very unique, which might force me to get a more traditional AP down the road.Anyway, I'm still kind of all over the place and would likely be happy with any of them, but I'm l
