Simple is harder to achieve in design. When something lacks bells and whistles it is more vulnerable, easier to pick apart and scrutinize. As such, it is a risk for a brand to pursue something simple and clean. But, when simplicity is achieved, there is an unmistakable beauty that comes along with it. This leads me to the actual topic of this article, a relatively new brand of watches from Sweden, called Mir¨®.?Mir¨® didn't set out to do something terribly new or innovative, they didn't use fancy materials or shocking colors, they just made a pure expression of a 3-hand watch that lacks pretention. With a dial design that is sparse, but well balanced, a calf-leather strap that is refined, but basic and hands that add just the slightest bit of contrast, the Mir¨® watches are more about style than substance. Of course you have to check everything out, so start with the dial and hands.Looking good, now take a peek at how crisp the lugs and case edges are plus there's no wear on the crown:A quick glance at the hallmarks:And for my favorite part - the caseback:I've never seen one with so much frosting left on the caseback. 15400 date wheel
I happened to change the date on my 15400 this morning at around 9:00 AM because I was a day behind. As I was winding, the gears seemed to be tight and it didn't appear that the date was changing properly. Is there a specific time that you can not adjust the date with on this movement?

Patek - Daily Wearing? 5726
Hey everyone - sometime before the end of the year I will be ordering/purchasing a new Patek 5726 Grey on a Bracelet - I have loved the look of the watch ever since i saw it at our local AD a few years back before I really could afford to buy it.So my small collection of nice watches so far is all Rolex, I have a black 116610 sub and also a blue white gold 116619 sub as well - both of these watches swap places on my wrist for months at a time, except when I wear one of my basic watches when I do yard work and stuff - this is where my question lies - is the Patek built to be worn daily?? My job isn't crazy, I am a office guy working in the marketing technology space - but have never had something this nice before and I just wanted to understand how 'daily wearer' this watch can be.When spending this much on a nice thing, early on I know it will be for special occasions only - but over time as I get comfortable it will likely spend weeks/months on my wrist - so just trying to understand
