IWC Da Vinci Chronograph Ceramic
The first ceramic watch case debuted in an IWC Da Vinci in 1986. In 2007, IWC presented its newly developed manufacture flyback chronograph movement in the redesigned Da Vinci family. For 2010, the circle is complete as the movement gets a new, elegant, high-tech home in the form of a ceramic and titanium case in – you guessed it – the Da Vinci Chronograph Ceramic. This IWC-manufactured chronograph movement incorporates several unique design features. Minuteman Watches: Military Style Built In The USA
The original idea behind Minuteman watches (quite appropriately named) was for the pieces to be assembled in the United States by disabled war veterans. It was a good idea, given that disabled veterans are a laudable group to work with/benefit, and it is a great goal to give even a few who are out of work, work. Minuteman tried to work with an organization that deals with disabled veterans, but it didn't work out. I think it was pretty nasty. Nevertheless, Minuteman did not want to abandon the idea of making watches here in the US. So the end result is that some portion of the sale of the watches will go to a charity that benefits disabled veterans, and the watch will be produced in Ohio by LUM-TEC.More specifically, for the first round of production, a percentage of the profits (not sure how much) will go to the Gary Sinise foundation (I have to wonder if that has to do with the fact that he played a disabled veteran in Forest Gump). After that I think the brand will evaluate how well

So I've been in talks with an AD and they have the Omega I want.OMEGA Watches: Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch" - Steel on steel - 3570.50.00They said MSRP is $4050 but they can take off up to 35% off but didn't elaborate on that much. Would it be wasting mine and their time to make an offer of $3000 tax included for it? Or is this the sort of thing you have to wait until there is a sale?

Two more vintage goodies....
Went into my jeweler to pick up a couple of straps. Yes you guessed it, he pulled me aside and showed me two watches he just picked up at an estate sale. A mid 70's Tissot PR 516 Auto. Gold tone case with a date. Nice condition. Then a early 60's Bulova Sea King M9 10K gold filled. Nearly perfect condition, no date. This watch debuted in 1959 and ran through the early 70's I believe. The later SS ones had a day/date feature. This was Bulova's answer to the Seamaster. It's a really thin elegant watch. Picked up both for a total of $125.00. The're both home and sporting new black Hirsch straps. The Bulova is keeping perfect time, but the Tissot runs way fast, about 5 minutes fast an hour. Does the 516 movement have an adjustment for this problem????
