Chopard 161894 wrist watches news:
I have a Hamilton khaki field watch 38mm case with the ETA 2824-2 movement. I got it at a great price but the rotor does not move without giving it a fairly hard shake. The watch winds by the crown and it keeps good time. Do I dare take it apart and try to fix it myself? I also wonder, do I have to worry about overwinding the watch by the crown? I love the watch and it's the best automatic I've owned.
I am always worried when I have to send a watch to the manufacturer for warranty or repair work as somehow things just never come back perfect like they should... but I've only read fantastic things about APSC and my steel diver needed to be sent in for various reasons. My steel diver has been running fast since the very first day I received it... never sent it in since I was too worried that fixing that would mess something else up. I also noticed that the inner bezel of my diver had a defect, it didn't align perfectly with the hour indices on the dial (misprinted). And finally, just before I sent the watch in, I noticed that the inverted triangle at 12 o'clock had a pit or hole on the lume... so I decided to send the watch in to take care of all these issues under warranty and to get my 3rd year warranty extension.I emailed them a few times to confirm their address and response was quite good. They also sent me an email once the watch arrived and it contained a document stating the c

Would like to share my first Patek Philippe timepiece here.Patek Philippe. Gen¨¨ve.Patek Philippe Naviquartz Chronometer, Ref : E1200, Cal. 33 with quartz standardization marina electronic chronometer with sweep centre seconds in original mahogany box. Manufactured in the late 1960s. In black dial, inner Arabic numerals, Arabic seconds indication to the outer raised chapter ring, in black painted cast metal case with chromium plated bezel. The original purpose of any chronometer is to be used in celestial navigation. In conjunction with a sextant and star chart a captain or sailor would measure the degrees that a known star is above the horizon (or it's Zenith) at a given time and date and get a position on the ocean. A minute error in measure of degrees or time will equate to many nautical miles of position error so accurate time is essential.
I see the BLNR/Batman is on its way to become a very successful model, so I guess it would be nice to have a place to gather our nicest pics of such a gorgeous watch. A Lume shot:
