Chopard 161268-5007 wrist watches news:
At SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a modern version of the Master Memovox International, originally created for the brand¡¯s 125th anniversary in 1958 and also known as the Memovox Worldtimer. The alarm disk on this Memovox (“voice of memory”) features different cities and regions. This piece will be produced in two limited editions in 18-carat pink gold and in steel. These new versions are fitted with the company¡¯s Calibre 956, which is the direct descendant of JLC’s Calibre 815, the first automatic movement with alarm introduced in 1956. This is a rare example of a movement that¡¯s still in production more than 50 years after its creation, though many improvements have been added over the years. In 1959, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 825 added a date aperture at 3 o¡¯clock. In 1970 the Calibre 916 replaced its swinging weight by a 360¡ã winding rotor and increased the balance frequency from 21,600 vph to 28,800 vph, which has become the norm for precision watches. In 19
One of the most important and prestigious American watch manufacturers was the Gruen Watch Company, founded by a brilliant father-and-son team of horologists, Dietrich and Fred Gruen. Among the first companies to sell wristwatches, the Gruens split their manufacturing between two continents, exporting American technology to Germany and Switzerland, and bringing German and Swiss traditions of craftsmanship to America.Dietrich was born in Osthofen, Germany, in 1847, and started his watchmaking career at age 15. In 1867 he went to America and settled near Columbus, Ohio. A hard-working young man, Dietrich was awarded his first watchmaking patent at age 27, in 1874. At 29 he co-founded the Columbus Watch Manufacturing Company; the successful enterprise was soon building complete watches in its own 300-employee factory buildings.Fred, Dietrich¡¯s oldest son, was born in 1872 and followed in his father¡¯s footsteps. In his youth Fred worked in his father¡¯s factory, then was sent to Germany to
WARNING: If you're squeamish, you may want to close this thread right now.Okay, it's not that bad but now that we got that out of the way I'll show you the "before" pics. This is a 1961 gold capped Constellation Pie Pan on a two tone Beads of Rice bracelet. Inside is a 24j caliber 561 chronometer. This poor thing is beat, and it looks like water got inside. It's also been redialed at some point. Even though the work was poor all the pieces (ie: applied parts like the star logo, OMEGA, and indices) are still there which is a relief. Imagine trying to source them. The bracelet is missing a gold bead, and the clasp is broken too. It's a pity somebody let this nice of a watch deteriorate into this condition. This is a job for Bienne. I've already been in contact with them and plan on shipping it by the end of June. Sam had a look at it just to verify all the parts are authentic. He mentioned it's a lesser seen combination of case & bracelet in his experience so I'll take
Was there a dial change to the 26402CE at anytime? & have a photo from 2014 at Weston's with the watch and a same photo recently as AP Miami and they have two different dials. They are both ceramic. PLEASE HELP. I want the all black dial but can't locate it.
Am I the only one? Companies have to advertise, but the blunt product placement in the movie and association of a product with a fictitious character make me cringe. Sorry, Omega, I won't be buying your Bond's choice any time soon.By the way, I am not an Omega basher by any means. Love my Speedy.
