Chopard 136621-1001 wrist watches news:
Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, the chronograph watch made famous by actor and motor racing enthusiast Paul Newman. The anniversary edition that Rolex released at Baselworld 2013 still generates strong opinions in the brand’s legion of fans. Here is a closer look at the watch. The first Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona ¡ª a wristwatch in a steel case with a manual-wind chronograph movement, named after the famous racetrack ¡ª was released in 1963 and has been produced in various versions ever since. (Newman regularly and famously wore a Daytona when he took up auto racing in the 1970s; a few very rare models have what collectors now refer to as the “Paul Newman dial,” with block indices and crosshairs on the subdials.) This model, however, is the very first Daytona with a platinum case. The color scheme ¡ª a dial in what Rolex calls “ice blue” and a bezel in what it terms “chestnut brown,” is also unp
This week, Bring A Loupe covers some of the most emblematic wristwatches ever made – watches that have become symbols of the companies that made them. We're starting with a couple of vintage Speedmasters, and you will also see a Futurematic from Jaeger-LeCoultre as well as a Cricket from Vulcain, both technically advanced watches for their time. Finally, Bidder Beware returns with two watches that you should absolutely not buy on eBay today (or ever). This is your Bring A Loupe for January 15, 2016. An Omega Speedmaster Reference 2915-3, AKA The Transitional 1 OF 12 The Reference 2915 was the first Speedmaster ever produced, over a three-year span from 1957 onwards. As it often happens with vintage watches, it is also the most coveted and valuable of the Speedmasters; think for instance of the first GMT from Rolex or the first waterproof chronograph from Patek – both enjoy greater success with collectors than later models. The Speedmaster Reference
Hi folks, newbie on this forum but a long time collector of Hamilton watches.Does anyone know which ETA movement the Hamilton 827 is based on ?same question for Hamilton 826.Both are 11.5''' automatic movements. They look like ETA 2824 and ETA 2836 but I am not sure. I didn't find any information about these references in any database.I think these are from the very last american period of Hamilton (or the earlier swiss period).Does a complete chart of these corespondances exist ?thanks
Starting to look into the ROO chronos, will be my first AP. I'm wondering what different experiences have been on buying additional straps. My thinking was to get the watch on the hornback and then get a rubber strap to go along with it. Would like to stay OEM if possible.I've searched some threads and it looks like a recommendation was to go through the APSC instead of an AD because of the markup. How do you go about doing that logistically with the SC? Any feedback one way or the other? Thanks everybody.
Torn between these two beauties. Appreciate it's a first world problem but which would you choose?
