Model ID
This is a solid 14KYG, rectangular Longines belonging to a relative of mine. I don't believe the crystal to be original. It is faceted into thirds where the lines of the case would seem to call for a crystal with a center facet. I don't have the movement number, as I returned the watch after re-attaching the crystal and buffing the case.From the reference this would appear to be a Pres. Roosevelt but, the three diamond dial isn't consistent. Does anyone have a thought as to what it might be?

New Slogan for Oris - strange, or is it just me???
Okay, Oris has released a new slogan:"Real Watches for Real People"Nothing wrong with that, but, the Swiss watch makers group/conglomerate/federation/old boys' club or whatever they're called, has just released a big campaign against fakes:"Fake Watches are for Fake People"Coincidence? Or just bad timing for Oris? Perhaps they didn't think one campaign would clash or overshadow the other. I know they are opposite messages, but just seem strangely linked.Perhaps Oris thought they would follow up on the other campaign by offering themselves as the 'real' alternative once people got the message about buying fakes .Any thoughts on their new slogan?
