After seeing Tom's fantastic Guardian,I thought I would do a little posting on a very cool feature that Illinois did...It is a Rotor Secometera little wheel for the sub seconds.I have seen a few out there on other brands, but Illinoisseemed to have several models they used this on.I always get excited to find one.A few fun ones:An odd Speedway case:Blackhawk:Another odd one:A generic period case with correct dial (I got this from Fred awhile ago)Uber Rare Guardian with Custom dial and Speedway 178 case:And...A One of a kind Guardsman Military with an "O" size movement!ENJOY!

Jacques Lemans
I was at an authorized dealer yesterday that carries Patek, Omega, Blancpain, IWC - just to name a few of their luxury brands - and my Jacques Lemans 2834 Big Day caused a mini-sensation with the staff.Despite the holiday crowds, they were actually passing around my watch and scoping it out. (I took it off to try on a 50 Fathoms). All were stunned by the quality - though they'd never heard of the brand (lol!).This particular watch is part of the Geneve series with a wonderfully decorated movement. Jacques Lemans offers very good value on their Swiss made pieces.So when you hear this kind of stuff on TVland, I can attest it's true. Very strange, indeed.Not some of my better pix:

What ref should I buy
HiI am currently considering adding a Patek but am unsure as to which one to go for (for reference I currently have a speedmaster, 116710ln and a 5513 sub from early 70s). Until recently I was planning to get a AP15300 White dial and in a couple of years add a Patek classic complications model in gold (likely 5146) but I am now also considering the following options - 5167 and Patek 5146 - 5711 and Patek 5146My main considerations are- whilst 5167 is nice it¡¯s a lot for a watch on rubber and at list the difference to 5711 is not that significant but it may be nice as something different (more sporty - nautilus is to me something in between sport and dress watch) assuming I am anyways getting a 5146 or similar and have a couple of steel Rolexes - is 5711/5167 overpriced/overrated in general even at list and better to get a ap15300 plus 5146 as was my original thought ( I don¡¯t want the 15202 as no seconds hand, tried it on recently)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is all about aesthetics. Which one strikes your fancy more? They both look so nice and yes, 5167A is heavily considered as well!
