- Watch - I bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he loved it. He is only 12 and because of the comfort band and lots of adjustment openings on the band, he was able to wear it. Great for young hunters...

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have been collecting vintage watches for many years but have never owned a Patek Philippe. I was recently given the opportunity to purchase my first Patek. I am hoping to get some info on this watch. I am told it is from the 40's and is a ref 425 with a 9-90 movement. The watch isn't working right now. I believe it is overwound. I am considering sending it to Patek for repair and was told it could take months to get back. Can anyone tell me how much a watch like this is worth these days? I love it very much and can't waitDSC01270.jpgDSC01238.jpgDSC01237.jpgDSC01261.jpg to wear it. Any help/advice is much appreciated. Thanks,Glenn[

As some of you may know, I am on the hunt for a TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre S Laptimer; problem is, its ONLY sold in the UK and oveseas. I am located in the US.CV7A10.FT6012I have had some email correspondances with the Westfield Tag store in London, who have been VERY responsive to me. I am doing my background check on them to make sure they are reputable. Has anyone purchased anything from this store before? Also, to my surprise, they are able to ship to me. Other stores in the UK has emailed me back and said they cannot ship to the US. Any thought as to how they are able to do this? They said free shipping, but will I get hit with a customs charge? How much? What about them charging my CC in US dollars to avoid the extra charge from my credit card company?Lastly, (I don't want to get into AD specifics), but ROUGHLY, what % off the asking price in Europe do you think I can get off my Tag? I was thinking 20% or so - please fill me in if its different in Europe. Not looking for specific p
Are there any specific watch brands you stay away from? And I should stay away from as well? Whether it's the quality of the watch, or the way the company is run or condones it self? Please give me reasons why when naming any brand, Thanks..
