Corum 985.631.20 wrist watches news:
I was waiting for someone to do this. It was only a matter of time before the watch world was able to release a budget version of the Corum Bridge watch. Storm UK was the one that did it. Of course this is not a replica or the same watch, but the concept is the same. A mechanical watch with a thin bridge-style movement in an otherwise empty and see-through dial. It certainly looks cool on the wrist.Let's be honest, you can't precisely compare a Corum with this Storm Mekon. While they exist in the same thematic family, this Storm will never replace a Corum in terms of pure horology. Where the Mekon does win is digest-ability. For just a few hundred bucks you can have the look and feel of something that would otherwise cost many thousands. Most people can handle that.I don't necessarily get the name "Mekon." Is it pronounced "mech-on," or perhaps "meek-on." I want to say the latter because of the word "Yukon." Whatever, the pieces speak for themselves. Storm rustled up a mechanical movem
I have just seen the new PAM 348, interesting, jury's out but i expect that the look will grow on me.Has anyone an idea on retail cost??
My pre-ordered Praesto GMT A1 (black dial and black pvd case) arrived today. The watch is beautifully built and is great looking. The fit and finish is first class. The genuine leather strap is a thick solid strap with a matching pvd buckle. Sadly the A1 has sold out, but there are other variations still available. Cheers, Bill P.Praesto GMT specifications: 316 stainless steel case 45mm Shanghai Cal. Any affordable examples, particularly autos? I know Magrette makes one, and I've considered it. Do they discolor the wrist? Anything else to know about them? Thanks for any info.
For some reason, perhaps an unhealthy combination of booze and pills (totally kidding about that), I was having a remembering my greatest regret from not buying moment this evening and it turns out that it was actually over an Omega. About nine years ago (you know, when MSRP on a Seamaster 300M chronometer was $1,750), when I was still in college, I was in a jeweler in my home town and what did they have left in their case? A NOS Omega Dynamic chronograph. Retail on it was something ridiculously low, like $895 and I could have gotten a decent discount on it, but for a guy in school it still seemed like too much. Then, the other day I saw a used one for $1,250... So, anyone else have a moment like this?
