IWC 391002 wrist watches news:
Dear All-Would like to get your thoughts on a watch my sister and I are going to purchase for my Mother. We would both like to get her a Rolex but have come to realize that she would be apprehensive about wearing it. So, if you were going to buy a watch for a petite, 65ish year old women who is still very active what brands would you suggest or look at?We would still like to spend $2-3K on it and it has to be two-tone. I am open about some small diamonds at the hour locations and a display date is somewhat important. I have looked at Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer, Ebel, Omega.Let me know your thoughts and or suggestions and any other brands you could point me towards would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
Hello. I am new this particular watch forum. Over the holidays my parents dug out my grandparents and great-grandparents' watches. Among them was this Patek Philippe Calatrava that belonged to my great-grandfather. My best guess is that he received this as a retirement or milestone anniversary gift from the company he worked for starting in 1922. He passed in 1977 so my best guess is that this dates sometime between 1942 and the late 1960s. I have sent it to PP for restoration and a proper strap but would be very interested in any insights on what model this might be. I just sent it in through an AD less than a week ago so I don't expect to hear anything for at least a month. I imagine it's destined for a long trip to Switzerland for restoration. Thank you. Hello all,I've just arrived in London and will be here for the next 10 days. I am planning to do some watch shopping over the weekend and have some questions for the UK guys on the forum:1. I've had recommendations to go to New/Old Bond Street - are there any recommendations beyond this street?2. As a non-resident of the UK, do AD's here rebate instantly or are there limitations to a VAT refund for luxury items?3. I am specifically looking at the 5167 and 5146, what discounts should I be expecting to get at AD's?Any help with the above or beyond would be greatly appreciated!Cheers,Eric
I had some time in Nashville today in between meetings and was able to do a F2F with AU911_tt aka Chase. He sure did not disappoint, I have graduated to the TT club. Can¡¯t wait for my next trip to see what he has. Great transaction and even better man. Loads of support for him. Thanks again! Photos on the way
HiJust wondered if anyone in the UK had purchased a TT Submariner recently and if so if they'd managed to negotiate any kind of discount?I was thinking about a Blue faced TT as a possible next purchase (that sunburst is just stunning!)My local AD has one but before I go and see them I would like to be 'pre armed' as it were with a little negotiating knowledge - obviously if there's no chance, don't want to look silly for asking!!In fairness, there are a couple of nearly new/used ones on eBay that look genuine enough (original sales receipt etc) but if I can get a new one for similar money I'd prefer my name on the warranty card.Any assistance/feedback appreciated.Regards.Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
