This Fendi Luxury Ladies Watch Is Colorful & Furry
For 2014, Fendi will release a collection of women's watches known as the Crazy Carats on mink fur straps. I've often asked myself how much people want watch straps with fur. Assuming it isn't some emergency attempt to warm up your wrist, the idea of having a timepiece buried in a muff of hair (real or otherwise) never really sounded like a good idea. In fact, back in 2009 I discovered the most amazing timepiece from a man I had never heard of, and have never heard of since. Since then, the watch has come up in conversation from time to time when people say, "Hey Ariel, do you remember that Fraggle Fur watch?" Oh yes, I remember it.Fraggle Fur is the pet name I gave to a watch I deemed to be most amusingly ugly that was produced by the French artist Andre Checa, and I discussed it here. VERY Rare WWI Waltham General Joffre Trench Watch w/ Crystal Guard
Hey guys.I just finished up restoring an extremely rare WWI Waltham Trench Watch.This is a GIANT 39mm Semi-Hermetic "General Joffre" with Swivel Lugs.A few things make this one stand out.First is the enamel military dial, Waltham made VERY few size 6s shadow box enamel military dials and this one has the original skeleton hands to boot.I have only seen a very small handful of these 6s dials but they are common for sizes 6/0s, 3/0s and 0s.This is the ONLY time that I have seen this dial on a General Joffre case.I re-lumed the hands using Bergeon luminous material.Second is the movement, a size 6s with 16 jewels featuring a solid gold center wheel, solid gold jewel chatons and solid gold balance wheel screws.Usually when you see a 6s Waltham Trench Watch the jewel count is much lower.According to Waltham company records this was the FINEST size 6s movement that was made during the Great War years, it did not get any better than this!Threaded case so the bezel and case back screws on and

Names of steel bracelet types
Are there definitive names for bracelet types? My problem is I want a steel/titanium bracelet watch, but only of a certain pattern, such as this one:but not like this:or any other kind. It has to be the one with squares that have vertical lines.This is the important bit: So, everytime i go into the shop, i have a hard time explaining what kind of bracelet i'm looking for. And to make matters worse, the kind i want usually aren't available in the shop, so i can't point my finger and say "That's the one!".Anyone know this? Maybe it's a silly question, i don't know, just thought i'd ask

15300 breaking my heart
I returned to Edinburgh, the city of my birth, this weekend for fun, frivolity (and alcohol!) at the annual Festival.Obviously I had to visit the high-end watch shops while I was there (much to the Long-Haired General's delight!) and I made the HUGE mistake of trying on a white dialed AP 15300...Please guys regale me with tales of how awful they are so that I can banish the covetous little demons from my mind!!!

Crystal chips. Embrace or replace?
Hey guys.Took my watch to a new watchmaker to get authenticated today. He had it for a very short amount of time while I waited and was very nice, showed me the movement and lubricated the gaskets, didn¡¯t charge me anythingUpon taking the watch back and inspecting I saw some crystal chips. I can¡¯t recall them being there when I purchased the watch. I¡¯m almost 99% sure they weren¡¯t. So it either happened by my wearing it, or by the authentication at the watchmaker. I am not going to blame him because I am unsure.Regardless. Should I replace the crystal or embrace the imperfections as my own?What would you doSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
