Daytona enthusiast turned Speedmaster lover
Greetings all. I had been wearing a stainless Rolex Daytona for a couple of decades, and when it stopped running for the third time, I decided to check out the Speedmaster. I bought a 2008 pro and took to it immediately. I have got the Daytona running, but I don't wear it anymore, and I will probably hock it and use the money to buy a couple of vintage Speedmasters. My only gripe with the watch is the hard winding and difficulty getting a good grip on the crown. I hear the 321 is a bit easier to wind, so I bought a 145.012 recently, and it's on the way...which leads to my first question: I'm in the N. Virginia area, and I'm hoping there is an independent watchmaker around that can do the service on a 321 at a reasonable cost. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I'm also in the market for a straight lug 105.003, preferably a 1964 model, so if anyone has a line on a beast of that sort, I'd be interested.
