Richemont Specialist Watchmaker Sales Up 34%
At its Annual General Meeting held today in Geneva, Richemont announced that its overall sales for the five months ended August 31 increased by 29% at actual exchange rates. At constant exchange rates, sales increased by 35%. The Specialist Watchmakers saw an increase of 34% at constant exchange rates, and 28% at actual exchange rates. On a region-by-region basis, Asia-Pacific lead the way with increases of 59% at constant rates and 46% at actual rates. The Americas did well with a constant rate increase of 41% and 26% at actual rates.Retail sales enjoyed a higher momentum than wholesale sales thanks to a good performance in the Maisons¡¯ (brands’) boutiques, the expansion of their retail networks, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, and strong growth at NET-A-PORTER.Richemont said that it expects its sales and operating profit for the first six months of this year to be significantly higher than the comparative period.Based on the strengthening of the Swiss Franc between Mar

I have always deferred to her tastes, so am thrilled.Actually, she only gave me a picture Her dealer had to special order this particular one and I have about another week of waiting, and waiting, and waiting...I will try to figure out how to post pics on this site in time for arrival. I haven't found a name for this model, but it uses the 2434 case, just as its Lord Elgin brother does.I got this off eBay, but never expected to receive such a nice example for what I paid. There is absolutely no wear through on the 10K gold plating and the dial is nearly flawless.The only work I had to do on this is to reset the second and minute hand which came off during shipping and I had to buff out the heavily scratched crystal. It even came with a decent Kreisler center expansion band. Here's its Lord Elgin brother:

Hello All,Do PAMs have a disengaging mechanism on the winding like Rolex does...Where you can wind and wind and wind and no harm comes in the way of the mechanism??On models like the PAM183( Radiomir Black Seal) or the PAM24 (Luminor Submersible), how many times should you wind it to be 100% charged??Rgds,Ed

Ordered a 5168 but got bumped?
Hi everyone,New account for anonymity purposes.I ordered a 5168 the day it was announced from my local AD. (back in March)I placed the standard $5k deposit down for the watch and was guaranteed to the be the first to receive it. AD confirmed I was first in line. Received an email today stating that I was to be bumped because a high profile person wanted it instead. So I am next in line.Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas what I should do? Anything I can do about this?I passed on a 5711 to wait on this. Will be my first Patek and this happened...All help greatly appreciated.Thanks,
