Sotheby’s Hong Kong Sale of Important Watches Brings US$7.14 Million
Sotheby¡¯s October 6 Hong Kong¡¯s sale of Important Watches totaled US$7.14 million, establishing Sotheby¡¯s highest-ever total for a various owners sale of important watches. The auction was 79.9% sold by lot and 85.8% by value. Leading the sale was a Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30o Vision No. 2 with mother-of-pearl dial, circa 2004, which sold for US$325,641 against a pre-sale estimate of $200,000 to $300,000. Asian and European collectors competed enthusiastically for exceptional examples.
