Have you ever fallen for something instantly and unexpectedly? It's happened to me with people, places, designs, and, in this case, a watch. Now it might seem strange that my love of this watch was unexpected, since Seiko is one of my absolute favorite brands, but if you had described to me a watch with a red-accented silver dial, 40 mm case with 18 mm wire lugs, and an off-centered 24-hour indicator, I probably would have given you a hard "PASS."? Thankfully instead, I saw it first ¨C and here we are.Seiko Spirit SCVE003 ReviewCase: Polished stainless steelMovement: Seiko 4R37ADial: Silver/White with red accentsLume: NoLens: Sapphire crystalBracelet: Stainless steelWater Res.: 10 atm (330 ft)Dimensions: 40.5 x 47.3 mmThickness: 13.2 mmLug Width: 18 mmCrown: 5.5 x 3 mmWarranty: 1 year through Seiko, 2 Years through AmazonPrice: ~$200CaseAt 40 mm, the SCVE003's case is right in my sweet spot for a casual sports watch. Bremont is a brand that hasn't gotten enough coverage here on worn&wound. It's not that we don't like British watchmaker; on the contrary, we're big fans of a number of their watches (the MBII and the Supermarine are two exceptional feats of engineering). But with their entry-level pieces going for anywhere between four and five thousand dollars, Bremont is priced higher than most of the brands we focus on. That said, as with other brands that offer something exceptional at the price, whether in terms of construction, movement, style, etc, Bremont's chronometers (they are all certified, after all) are something to behold, and worthwhile aspirational pieces. This year at BaselWorld 2014, they unveiled a handful of watches that majorly impressed, ending up as one of the highlights of the show as a whole.Bremont Boeing Model 1 + 247First up is Bremont's collaboration with aerospace giant, Boeing. I can see you rolling your eyes, but trust us; this collaboration is not a shallow market
I just spent two days touring inside here....they confiscated my camera....well I surrendered it peacefully...I wish I could have shared photos with you of what I seen, but what I did see was fantastic.Best,Rob
Sometimes there are things in life that happen for a reason, this is a crazy one.Last thursday evening I almost ... purchased a rolex submariner 116610LN. I was in the store for quite some time, price was better than I expected from an AD in Montreal, it was like too good to be true honestly, it was even better than from a reputable seller on TRF to give you an idea... I was about to commit the crime, then for an unknown reason, wife was asking me of a coffee. It was a cold evening in Montreal and we were walking for quite some time before getting into the store, and she was still cold. So I said, why not, let's go get a coffee then we'll be back in 30 min...This is where the nice part of the story start. While having a coffee, I looked up my mails and guess what, a mail from DavidSW, he was finally able to source a pre-owned 15300 white dial, complete box set and now, I am having an espresso, coming back from the bank to wire him the money.I don't have to tell you that I didn't walked
I have now owned my watch for a week and have decided that it is time for a new strap. I LOVE the Brown Aligator strap that came with it. I am looking at the Black Aligator strap with the deployment buckle. I have found this strap on Watch Band Source and it says it is OEM. Has anyone purchased a strap form them and is it really OEM? Given that they are selling it for $289.95 it seems lower than anything that I have seen in the OEM market. Thanks.
