Ebel Ebel 43173 wrist watches news:
Hi AllIn general discussion I started a thread just showing some old fobwatches in terrible condition that my parents came across stuffed in the back of some drawers when clearing out my uncles old apartment .A nicer find was this old Geneve, given to him in 1974 for 20 years service as a supervisor at the Heinz Factory in Lancashire, England. My parents, knowing my fondness for all things horological, have passed it on to me, and I'm trying to figure out if it is worth getting refurbished versus it's value when done. My father took it to a jeweller before passing it on to me, and was told it was worth a bit as it was a solid gold model. However, I can't find any hallmarks or serial numbers so have no idea what carat it might be if it is solid gold rather than gold plated! I'm not too worried about it's authenticity - I can't see Heinz passing out fakes to employees! I would like to remove the rear case to see if there is any more useful information in there, but can't work out how
I'm usually not into gold watches but I think this Vintage (1970s) Omega Constellation f300 hz Chronometer with the Tuning Fork 1260 movement is amazing. The movement has the quickset day/date adjustment.Size 38mm wide by 44mm long with original rice grains bracelet.Notice the gold specks on the lapis blue dial.I thought it would make a nice dress watch I'm really looking for a Constellation Megaquartz f2.4 Starbusrt but until then, this will do...The price was right at my limit plus $1

Ok, there have been a few HMT related posts in the recent past, so I'll keep this short. After a lot of hunting around for the rare HMT Pilot, I managed to locate a shop about an hour's drive from my place. So, a few narrow misses on the highway (rickshaws can be scary) and a lot of walking later I was finally at the shop!A lil later I was out with all these!:Two of the pilots will be passed on. One to Jpv here and the other to another member on another forum (who has it on his grail list)watchtalkforums.info/foru...1_rolleyes.gifI had a small chat with guy at the store, who ran it with his wife. He was happy that we showed interest in the mechanical watches, and lamented over the fact that people nowadays only go for quartz. He also said that a routine servicing would keep the watches running for a lifetime. Oh, also, the lady at the store said that there has NEVER been a white Pilot ....so anyone claiming to have one, may be in for a rude shockHmm...this post turned out to be longer t
