I don't know why it took me until now to cover Habring2 here on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer. You've heard about German watch makers, but what about Austrian ones? Well now you have. These guys are pretty cool - and certainly unique. Imagine if Sinn and Tutima had a cousin across the border. Similar but different, that German speaking cousin regularly wore bowties. That would be?Habring2. I mean all is good except for the little mathematical "squared number 2" numeral next to the name. I get that it is a team of Maria Kristina Habring and Richard Habring - but did they need to choose a character that requires like 10 minutes to figure out how to enter into a text document?If Habring2 was a mathematical equation I think the result would be Germanic mechanical sentiments times nouveau design classicism equals whatever you see here. Question to other Canadians
I am purchasing a Speedy in the US, am I better to have it shipped to Canada and pay the taxes (13 per cent) plus possible brokerage fees or bring it home with me and get the $800 duty free allowance, however I will have to pay the state sales tax (7per cent) I think it is likely a wash either way. I could just no declare it, but how do I explain the box and other papers. I am not comfortable at being a smuggler it not just not in me, besides I would hate the fine and being on their watch list forever. Any thoughts!

Had the call...
Following on from my thread asking your thoughts on the blue 5711 a few weeks back, I put my name down. I was told that they would have an idea on allocation next February.Currently on a two week med cruise and last week I had a call to say that they had unexpectedly received one and it was mine if I wanted. Wouldn't hold it until my return so I had to bank transfer the funds. That was done and I'll pick it up next week. I'm guessing I only had to wait 6 weeks, so I've been quite lucky.Never had a Patek and not bought from that shop before, though they own a small chain of Rolex AD's and I'm a fairly good customer.
