Need help with a Seiko PMMM project
Hi everybody, I have a Seiko SKX007J4 and I love it, but there are some things on that watch that I feel they could be improved, those things are: a little less "sport" look on the dial and a clasp with more than two adjustment holes because the watch sits a little bit too loose or too tight on my wrist. Since I saw a picture of a PMMM (Poor Man's Marine Master) a couple of years ago, I always wanted to have one. So that's my project: building one out of some different parts. As I live in Venezuela, I only have 400$ a year to spend on internet with my credit card, so I have to be very careful with my budget. Here's my plan...I'll buy the following:-The cheapest SKX171K (the one with rubber strap) = 188$-A black SKX007 bezel = 56$-A 22mm Seiko SNA029-bracelet = 39$-A 22mm Seiko SBBN007-bracelet WITH WET SUIT EXTENSION = 83$I've read somewhere on the net that the SNA029 bracelet fits perfectly on the SKX models so I want to use it for this project. Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph 45MM or Breitling Bently Chrono GT 48MM?
Hello,New to watch collecting and I have my eye on the Breitling Bently Chronograph GT and the Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph. I thought it is time to try and automatic watch and I realize that I wear my Invicta 5017 alot because I like the size 43mm. My wrist size is about 7 1/4 inches and the Breitling is a 48MM while the Omega is a 45MM. My question is do you think my wrist is too small to sport a 48MM watch and which watch do you guys prefer and why? Does Breitling have a better reputation than Omega? I was going to pull the Trigger on the Omega last night just out of fear that a 48MM may look too big on my wrist so I said let me pose the question here first.Thanks alot.

Here we go again. So a while back i posted a thread asking a 26320OR owner with a short bracelet to meet up with me so i can try on the watch to see how it felt. A stainless 39mm owner met up with me and i pulled the trigger on the 26320OR on bracelet. Now i want to see if there is a 26401 owner with a SHORT RUBBER STRAP that wants to meet me so i can feel the weight of the watch/how it feels on my wrist. I keep hearing that changing the strap of the watch from regular to short makes a significant difference on how it sits/feels/it's top heavy weight. If anyone is up for it i'm willing to meet you at the AP Boutique and take you to lunch after. ANYONE? ANYONE?!?!?!?!?EDIT: Anyone with a 44 & 42 ROO that has a picture of them side by side on a desk/floor? The 44 bug got me in Miami this weekend at the AP Master Watchmaking Class :(

16800 purchase advice
I'm still learning about Rolex (the deeper you go, the more you get lost) and have found I don't like the latest generation of Rolexes. I've been looking for something reasonable that had a vintage vibe to it. Ideally a 5513 but the ones with nice Patina seem to go for too much. I started looking at 1680 as I like the date wheel with the open 6 and 9. I came across this 16800 that has a nice dark patina to the markers and a ghosted bezel.Could you tell me if there's anything wrong with the watch and the price? So I know what to look for next time. Also, would you avoid purchasing from an international seller?
