Ferrari 830080 wrist watches news:
In February, I got a white dial Milgauss at a local AD. I wore it alot, even though I prefer a date. Since then I've gotten the Panerai bug and now have a 104,88 and 283 which get virtually all the wrist time. I don't expect to wear the Milgauss that much anymore, but I'm hesitant to get rid of it just because it's so tough to find. What do you think?
Hi all, I'm going to be in the Baltimore area in a couple of weeks and would like to spend a day watch hunting in the big city. Any suggestions for antique shops, pawn shops, flea markets? I'd love to find a shop like that City Bank place in Ohio.Joel
My employer has a nice five-year anniversary program in which we get a credit and a pre-negotiated discount at the local Tourneau for a nice watch. I've been lurking on the watch forums and reading "Wrist Watch Annual 2008" for a couple months now, and I'm currently leaning towards IWC, despite their unfortunately high prices. A coworker has a titanium AquaTimer Chronograph, and I really like it. But then lately I've been admiring pictures of the Classic Pilot Chronograph, so now I'm uncertain again. And of course there are other brands vying for my attention, including Omega (Seamaster 300M Chrono), Mont Blanc (Timewalker Chrono), and Ebel (1911 Discovery). My only requirement at this point is that I want a chronograph with a date display, with day+date preferred. I'm a fan of bracelets, though some of the bands do look pretty nice. While I have been known to SCUBA dive, I have no intention of actually diving with any of these watches, so actual dive worthiness isn't a factor. I
So I've been scanning ebay for weeks for a nice APRO to replace by beloved RO Chrono I had to sell to fund the purchase of my new PP 5711/1R... I of course was looking for a bargain... never would have expected this however.. It was an independent guy (not watch seller on ebay), the account was 10 years old, with a similar rating to mine (190ish)... no negative reviews. He had this up for auction, so I asked what price he'd want to end the auction... he sent me $6500... I was dumbfounded... The watch is essentially brand new he said, was a gift and he's not a watch person and there are no dealers in Arkansas that even know what to do with it. He ships it Fedex overnight and I'll know for sure if this was the deal it looks to be tomorrow...AP RO 15400ST. OO. 1220ST. 02Did I do ok??? (ASSuming I didn't just get scammed out of 6500!!??)
OK...sorry about the other thread with no pic. If you didn't see it or know what I'm talking about, it's probably just as well. Steve, you were right, my brother. You know me too well! Merry Christmas to all my TRF family!
