Franck Muller 5850 AC CASA wrist watches news:
What is the thickness, crystal to caseback? What does the caseback look like? Getting ready to attempt to trade my 2225.80 for a 3222.80.
Hi all, I have a more philosophical question for you:My watch adventure started when I salvaged a barely working wittnauer that I had from my grandfather, and had it restored for my wedding. Of course the restoration was a bit more than the watch is worth. Next I found a vintage Omega at an antique shop for a very good price, wore it for a year, then had it serviced. It came out beautiful, but including the original purchase price it I probably paid a bit more into it than I can sell it for (though as an aside I am amazed at the differing prices amongst different internet companies for similar watches)Next came my everyday watch--the slightly use Rolex Submariner. This one is modern, and Rolex does not seem to have issues with value. Now I just dug out another "family watch". A well worn 1942 bulova talk watch. It does not run, the case has some brassing, and the dial has it's share of patina. This is a watch you can probably by all day for 150$, but I am once again thinking of
How about the ones who have pets or whatever exotix animals show us some pics, with the watches ofc!? I'll start with my cat!:cat.jpg
So this past weekend against my better judgement I decide to stop in to the local Five Guys to indulge in a burger for lunch. All is good until I leave and the door which was clearly set with too much tension decides to smack back on me while exiting and naturally has to wack my AP Diver. I don't baby my watches as can be seen from the other small marks on the watch but I nearly cried when I saw the damage near the bezel screw at 1 o'clock. Not to minimize the love for my AP Diver vs another watch BUT I had my PP Aquanaut 5167 in my hand that morning and I decided on wearing the Diver instead. Marks like this are never good on ANY watch but the door probably would have completely ruined the Aquanaut. I think this mark is going to drive me nuts so the watch will likely go to Clearwater much earlier than it would have normally.
I recently was given my fathers rose gold omega speedster broad arrow. I have absolutely no interest in selling it, as I am in love with it and it was a gift from my father. It is in incredible condition, on the original leather omega strap with 18k deployment clasp. I was just curious how much a watch like this would be worth, and where a good place to get it serviced in the future would be. Thanks!
