Hello - I'm new.
Hi,my name is Simon, I'm from London and I guess I've been a closet WIS for many years. I remember taking my first watch apart when I was 11, removing the dial and 'modifying' it so whenever you wound it, the second hand span round furiously, stopping randomly (don't worry - the watch was already dead when I did this to it).I loved the workings of watches and always wanted a skeleton watch.For many many years I made do with seikos, casios and a few swatchs, all fantastic watches but never quite being the 'one'. I met my first Rolex when I was 22 (a sub-mariner) and realised I wanted one.In 2002 I was fortunate to be left some money when my grand parents passed away and I decided I wanted to buy something permanent to remember them. I decided it was going to be a Rolex, but not knowing much about them (other than they were very expensive) and only ever having seen in real life a sub-mariner I started 'looking'.A colleague at work (who was a real WIS) saw me looking on the web one day a

Should I add ROC (26331) or Old School 26170 ROO ?
Looking to add another AP to the 44mm 26400IO (titanium with ceramic bezel) I already have. Want something flexible for everyday wear. Considering either the newer ROC 26331 (most likely black face as I was underwhelmed with the white when trying it on) or...maybe go back in time to something more old school like the 26170 Panda. I want something on bracelet and do like the newer 26331 line. The bracelet is divine and I think it makes a great daily, however it may be a little too similar in design to the 44 chrono I already have. There is something about the older 42 that speaks to me. Years ago the Panda was the first AP I've ever owned and I've always loved it's flexibility (bracelet, strap, etc...), just not sure if it's a little dated in comparison.Thoughts and advice are always appreciated ! TIA

How accurate is your watch?
I have just purchased a submariner and am very pleased with it so far.I have a question about accuracy though. I recently noticed that it is gaining about 5 secs per day. Is this normal? I had assumed that any time loss would be much smaller. Am I barking mad or is my watch dodgy?Many thanksJay

Rolex Day Date 40 in rose gold
Hi,Although I have a couple watches (one Rolex and Cartier apiece) I don¡¯t know much about watches - I received both of those as gifts.I¡¯m on vacation and I just tried on the Rolex Day Date 40 in rose gold and with a green dial. The Rolex store showed me the MSRP of $35k and said they could go down to $30k. Is that a good price for this watch? I did some quick googling and saw it only from $28k - $32k. However, I¡¯m not sure if they are all the same watch because although they look the same, some say ¡°anniversary¡± and other don¡¯t.Could someone advise if there are multiple versions of this watch and whether $30k is a good price? I was thinking of countering with $27k, do you think that¡¯s doable?Is this considered a good watch in terms of keeping its value in the future?
