- This oversized watch is truly gaudy. The casing is rather thick, and the crystal decorated parts are even thicker and clunkier. The watch definitely lacks in refinement. Vey disappointing!

Girard Perregaux 80180-21-611-21A wrist watches news:
Contributed by David BredanThe last 10-15 years have arguably been the most entertaining, most enthralling in the history of watch making. These years saw the rise of an immense amount of superbly gifted watch makers and brands ¨C like Urwerk, HYT, DeBethune or Antoine Martin, just to name a few ¨C and they have never failed to amaze, or at least amuse watch lovers; while often triggering heated debates amongst them. These brands are the ones who have the real power to entertain any watch lover regardless the level of financial or academic involvement by?expressing their oftentimes shocking, previously unimaginable twists on watch making.Maximilian B¨¹sser is undoubtedly one of the key players in making all this possible by overwhelming retrograde tastes and attitudes towards high-end watch making: first by starting the Opus line at Harry Winston, bringing the staggering and shockingly fresh works of often less publicly known watch makers to the public; and then by creating Machines as da
Another newbie question; is there a list somewhere of good watchmakers by state / area? I'm in the NYC / NJ metro area, and I'd like to know of places that are good but not too expensive.Thanks.Adam
Been lurking on here a bit, used to be pretty active on RWG.cc, but since purchasing a lovely hamilton x-wind, this is the only forum that would appreciate the quality value of their watches and awesomeness of mechanical 7750 mov'tI'm new, but I didn't come empty handed ;)Well, here are the pics, prepare to modem melt!!Started innocently enough. Hamilton X-Wind, with the stock leather strap. For some weird reason, this white-face model is a rare item here. Rarer than the rose-gold limited edition, as the white is not readily stocked at the local Authorized Dealer. As you can see, the numerals are brushed steel, and change colour depending on how the light reflects off of themThe RED accents in the face really set this off for me and contrast nicely with the white dial and black/grey numbers, and steel case.wristshots of the original.Look at that grain.Embossing in the back of the strap under the backside. again, detail is supurbThe stock X-Wind strap is a BEAST. Its slightly thicker than
I need some advice, I'm going to the casion again tomorrow I have'nt been there in over a month and I'm having a hard time decideding on what watch to wear so I norrowed it down to these.
Hi all, you probably know that I bought my second Patek, a 5726 on strap less than a month ago, and even if getting a third watch in the near future is out of the question I wanted to know your opinion about these watches, which do you prefer, and in my case having a 5712-1A and a 5726 on strap which one/ones would be most interesting. At some point or another I will want to add a RG model to my modest collection, had the Daytona 116515 in ivory dial, beautiful watch but never loved it as I love my 2 Pateks.Of course I suppose the best for me would be the 5167R, first because I don't have an Aquanaut, second because it's gorgeous, hesitated between it and the 5726 but the complications factor came before the precious metal factor, and don't regret it one second, but if I am to get one day a third Patek it will definitely have to be a RG piece.Apart from the Aquanaut there is also the 5980R, won't have enough money to go for the 1R and anyways it's a little too much for me to pull it off
