Hublot 521.NX.7170.LR wrist watches news:
OK, I'll admit to being pretty biased against white gold (and platinum for that matter) to an extent. When spending the kind of money the difference between white gold has to stainless steel, I want to see something noticeable. And, call me shallow if you want, but to be perfectly honest a small part of me wants others to see & know it's not steel when I'm wearing it too. After all, it's still 'steel' colored. Or is it?I recently bought a Jaeger Le Coultre Master Moon in white gold on a strap. It's a very nice watch, and I've been enjoying it. But I started to look at it & think "is it really the same color as stainless steel?" Hummm Well I decided to take a look.So I broke out the camera & watches I got my steel Yacht-Master, steel Glashutte Original & the white gold JLC...the Yachtmaster:the Glashutte Original:the JLC:They all look pretty close.. Hummm. maybe white gold does look the same as steel...But, let's put them side-by-side & see how they look....Ye
Last month an auction for a WALTHAM VINTAGE ART DECO CASE AND DIAL OF WATCH caught my eye. There was a frontal pic of the assembled case and a short description ¨C ¡°WALTHAM ART DECO CASE AND TWO TONE DIAL. CASE MEASURES 36mm X 28mm¡±. The seller was from Israel (not an Empress) and had good feedback so I took a shot and here¡¯s what I got.I figured from the dimensions that it would fit a 6/0 size movement and it does. It¡¯s a Star case but is not marked Waltham. It is 10k RGP with a stainless back. I would guess it¡¯s from the 30s. The design is a little out there for Waltham. I could see it more as a Bulova. I really like it though and think it will make a gorgeous watch. The paint on the dial is a might crude. Some bleeding under the edges of the mask. My only problem with it is it doesn¡¯t fit onto any of the variants of a model 1942 which is the only 6/0 size Waltham I have in my collection. The spacing of the feet would be 1, 21, 37 in minutes around the dial. Does anyone recognize this
Spotted a high number of spots on the dial which I believed is due to the poor coating process. i.e. the underlying brass is slowly showing on an otherwise blue dial. Those with the new jumbo might wanna take a closer look at yours and see if the blue coating is evenly applied.Kinda disappointed given i have bought the watch for less than 2 monthsOff to the service centre it will go today Hope it does not come back with dings and scratches....
Three months ago I sold my Rolex Sub C Date, a watch that almost never left my wrist for the two-and-a-half years I had it, for quick cash after buying a new Harley and realizing something had to go (I know, life is tough..cough..cough...ahem). Since then I've had watch-lust; longing for a fine timepiece on my wrist. A few days ago I satisfied the lust and visited my trusted Rolex and Omega AD and got a Seamaster Professional Diver
That new watch itch is driving me crazy. I currently have an Exp 1 and LvC and am thinking about buying the PAM 000. With the new U.S. price reduction it is even more tempting. However, I could also see myself flipping it down the road. If I can get it from an AD 10% under do you think that would prevent me from taking a big hit if I flipped it within the year?
