Breitling a13051 wrist watches news:
I bought my PO in December of 07. I really have to say, especially considering my personality of coming in and out of things, i.e., phases, I still smile and fall in love all over again with my watch. It is constantly on my mind. Somewhat of a disease if you ask me or anyone else. It's on my wrist and I don't simply forget about it. It's amazingly beautiful! What a tool. Just wanted to post a thread to see how many of you are still very much in love with your Omega and never forget that she is on your wrist. Of course, we wouldn't be here at WTF if that wasn't the case, but still, I just wanted to post. Also, feel free to post a picture with a sentence or two talking about how you feel. This sounds more and more like obsession therapy than just simply sharing passions for watches.
My goal is to eventually build a decent collection of specific Hamiltons from the 1950s and early 60s. One of the models I like is the Colby. This is where my question comes in.There is currently a "Colby" posted on the bay, and the case and dial are correct, but the movement clearly says Illinois Watch Co. It's a 17 jewel piece. I know the story behind Hamilton and Illinois, but to date have not seen a Hamilton model such as the Colby with an Illinois movement inside. Could this watch be original, or is it a frankenwatch of sorts?I'm not going to bid on this particular Colby example (price seems way too high), but for my own future reference I want to know what I can look for in terms of authenticity/originality.Thanks!
Post a watch you are thankful to own, and why.For me, I believe I am most thankful for my Breguet Tradition. I fell in love with it in the Breguet store on the way to dinner. After dinner, I stopped back by and realized that I wouldn't be able to get a good night sleep for the rest of my life until I owned one. I'm thankful I accidently caught a glimpse of it, because it has become my single most favorite watch to wear.
Thanks to OCROLEXGUY, I have traded my Gold Sub back to him and purchased a 5711 White dial. I am truly a PP guy now.My new go to piece for everyday. Thanks Patrick.
Thought you guys might like reading this.Brad Pitt splashing the cash on a Patek for Angelina..digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...ing-watch.htmlThis also mentions how Brad was at Basel and met the Stern family which was very surprising for me. I know he has a Nautilus but didn't know he was that into it.
