Id like to introduce myself to you guys here in the Forum. My name's Dave Sampson, and I go by "Uncle Dave."I live in West La, and have worked in the entertainment industry for about 20 years now. If you are in the industry you'll recognize the last letters in my screen name.I have a modest watch Collection with a No date Submariner 14060, a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso GMT, a LeCoultre Memovox, and a Hamilton Rodney I inherited from my grandfather. Not strictly watch related but Horologically very cool I Have a JLC Atmos clock. My other hobbies are boating, Dirt Bikes, Shooting, Rv/4x4, & technology. Ive already very much enjoyed the Hamilton forum and have found a group of cool, helpful dudes in there and I look forward to meeting more of you guys. Ill post up the watches in their respective Forums. Thanks. Uncle Dave
I picked up a black Monster a while back for a song (had winding issues), with the intention of learning about what makes a watch tick. My plans were to bead blast the case and bracelet, replace the dial and hands, and fix or replace the 7S26 if necessary. After a few days of normal use, the movement appears sturdy enough for my purposes as-is - this would be an occasional wear piece for me, pulling yard work and fishing duty. I will leave the movement alone, at least as long as it's running and keeping acceptable time.So far, I've purchased a yellow dial and new hands, although I'm not sure how the dial will look with the stock chapter ring. Please review and give feedback regarding chapter ring options (there are not many out there for the Monster). Thinking about picking up a different dial and chapter ring. Anyone know of vendors other than Yobokies, OFrei, or 10watch?My biggest accomplishment to date was the completion of the bead blasting. Pics are before and after IMG_0681.jpgIMG
Does anyone know the thickness and the price?
I need some help, I will offer an Omega watch sports as part payment of a Panerai I'm selling as although I like all sports Omega I'm not very knowledgeable in this brand. All models are reliable? They keep all the same value or there is one that is devalued more? My PAM is 2012 almost new it's almost new I'm lowering the price by 37% of the new. I have to do more or less the same with the Omega offered to me?Thanks in advance for the advice.Regards
