I'm gonna go broke
or Windy's gonna kill me if she finds out how much I've been spending on "old watches" lately. I really wasn't looking for another watch after snagging the AP. Then an evil enabler called me to blow me out of the water with the Seamaster Pie Pan 355 so I had to have that too. That should have been it since I went WAY over budget to get that, and was happy as a dog in a butcher shop to do it. Well, the Watch Gods either love me and are shining good fortune uponst me in my quest to finish my collection of bumper 35x movements, or they hate me and want to cause my financial demise. I can't figure out which yet, but in the mean time I'll share the gem they guided me to - a '54 reference 2799 Constellation De Luxe caliber 354 in near mint condition:Usually it takes time to track one of these down, but I'm having a hall of fame spring so it figures this would pop up. A quick phone call to the unnamed evil enabler, a brief e-mail session with Desmond (because I will NOT buy a Connie wit

Bulova"President" with 7AP movement
Looking to have this one repaired at some point in the future, I believe it's called the President model. It was found in a local Antiques cooperative, the case has no wear through nor deep scratches, the movement is running but the winding action is broken and it is missing the crystal. Need a back to my Braun AW10 Watch...
My wife bought me a Braun AW-10 wrist watch and I accidentally washed it - oddly enough it still works fine I have everything except the back fell off of it.I have wet everywhere for help even Braun, but no one says they have one. I have heard from people that some jewelers can get generic watch backs. Is this true? Does anyone know where I can get one. I really want to wear this watch but I do not have the back to it.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a good book about watches? I'm after one that is serious but aimed at the beginner. Should cover how they work, different types, history, regions (swiss, japanese etc), and some brands.I found The Watch by Gene Stone on Amazon, has anyone read it? Is it a good one?
