A Meeting Of WTF Members .......or.....Fun With Watches......
....As some of you might remember, I have been asking ....( erbegging) for fellow WTF members in the bay area to come and visit me at one of the antique markets I do around here.....well, Timeliz and Boxcar ( Richard) turned up this last weekend and we had a ball...........we looked at all my watches, but as I had a particularly successful weekend, I had a much smaller showing than I would have had earlier in the year .....but we had fun looking ....and Liz herself was wearing a drop dead gorgeous curvex style Bulova, with applied gold numbers, and one of the cleanest sharpest dial I have ever seen .....a 30s watch I betcha ..........and I remember seeing Richards watch ....but don't remember it ....( ah the brain of an ADDer....big holes where you don't expect them ) .....anyway....as Liz and I are of a height, and Richard towered over both of us ....it was she and I who chatted at each other a mile a minute .....but all 3 of us are most assuredly WTF kind of folks ....watches watches

How comparable is an Omega Seamaster 300m to a Rolex Submariner?
I have been lurking around these forums for a few years now with my heart set on a used Rolex Submariner. I'm budgeting around $4,500, so I imagine that would get me a watch around 10 years old or so.I recently came across the Omega Seamaster 300M, and I really like the looks of it (very similar to a Submariner IMHO). I'm curious how others feel in regards to the comparisons between the two.I still like the Submariner, but I also really like the comparable looks of the Omega Seamaster 300m, and the price would allow me to buy brand new.Curious what everyone's thoughts are here, which will be greatly appreciated. 1171 bracelet for a Speedmaster?
Wearing my -71, 861 Speedmaster on leather and/or a noname bracelet. Like it, but thinking of buying a new 1171 bracelet, but before getting one I would like someones opinion about it. Anyone with experience of a 1171?
