History of the 114270?
Greetings,I'm new to posting on WTF. Have a couple of Omegas, a 16030 bought new in 1987, and some odds an ends.I've been looking at new and used 114270's as a possible daily wear watch but don't feel as though I know too much about years and variations of the different series. I've seen a poster describe a D series as one of the "RRR" rehaut models but haven't seen a photo that shows how that looks. And if I am not mistaken, the newest model Explorer has the laser etched logo at 6 O'clock on the crystal but nothing else.What changes should I be aware of as I consider the different series of the 114270?thx,Brad

Mid-range Seiko? Watch #2
A quick preface:A little over a year ago I purchased my first mechanical watch. After extensive research, I decided on a frugal Seiko 5 (SNK795K1) with the 7S26 movement. It was understated enough to be worn with any attire, but looked sharp with a suit. And at $55, it fit nicely into my graduate student budget.Wow, I must say. After wearing it mountain biking, skiing, and to numerous interviews, Seiko far exceeded my expectations for quality and finish. The movement quickly settled to +10 seconds per day or so, and hasn't budged since.Presently:My financial situation has improved a bit, and I'm looking to take the plunge once more. My wife picked it up for me knowing I'm a watch guy, she thought I might like because I don't have anything like it, she was right, I kind of dig it, it fits well, and what saves it is the electric blue face, she knows I like blue face watches, It's not going to replace the Tag, but every once in a while I can see wearing it, anyhow here is the pic:Brand: Claiborne Dial Color: Blue Bracelet: Black metal alloy Clasp: 2-pusher folding buckle Movement: Analog Water Resistance: 100' Case Width: 41.5mm Case Thickness: 11mm
