Deep Sea question
Hey guys,I'm new to the forum and looking to buy my first luxury watch. I've decided that my first will be a Rolex and would like some advise on the purchase. In general, I prefer larger watches, so after some research, I've kind've settled on a Sea Dweller. Before trying one on, I thought the older model Sea Dweller was the way to go, because in the pics I looked at online, the ring on the inside of the bezel on the Deep Sea seemed too "busy". I guess the offending part is the new "ring lock system". Anyway, after physical inspection and trying both on in the store, the new Deep Sea feels and looks better to me. What do you guys think about the two watches? I wonder if the older Sea Dweller will be more highly sought after (or collectible, I guess), since its discontinued. The extra 50% premium on the Deep Sea certainly makes me hesitate, but I want the watch I'll be happy with for years. Which SMP
I really like the look of the SMP and would love to get one. Everybody refers to the 2220.80 and similar as the James Bond watch because of Pierce Brosnan. I really don't like Pierce Brosnan, so the idea of that watch bugs me. I also don't like the skeleton hands. Besides, I've got the Casino Royale PO which to me is the James Bond watch. I loved Daniel Craig as Bond. It doesn't seem to make sense now to buy an Omega without co axial. Titanium seems to tinny. There are some gorgeous pictures of SMPs on the Omega Members Gallery thread #21 and #39 but I dont know which of those are available now or if or any like them have co axial. What do you think? BTW, I love being able to do a thread like this and get great opinions and knowledge.

The end of Spring and start of Summer began a basement cleanup at my wife's parents home. She pulled this little gem out of a box that we had posted in the FREE section of Craigslist. Meanwhile, several trucks pulled up to haul away 70-80s typewriters, skis, ski boots, roller blades, chairs, tables, desks, stereo speakers, etc. I was thrilled my wife spotted this for me. Here are pictures from Saturday before any work has been done on it.Some work needs to be done on the caseback. Some gummy residue and discolouring.Bezel is tight from years of not turning. I loosened everything up in a "Spa"dip of warm water and dishwasher soap before I began any polishing.My OM finally has a brother. A Pepsi brother to relate with! (ps I still want the TUNA CAN SBBN007 though!) Then they will be the 3 Musketeers.Now all I have to do is get a battery into this. That was today's task! Incoming White Sky-Dweller
After waiting for three months with 50% down on an AD list, I gave up and pulled the trigger on a BNIB model listed on the classified section here. Very pleased I did. White was my first choice, then while waiting I started looking more closely at the blue one. Glad I stuck to my original choice. Definitely the right one for me! Love the clean, elegant look. This watch SINGS to me. Really enjoy how it changes color, depending on how the light hits it. At times it looks white, silver, and grey. I tried to illustrate this below.
