Graham 25FL673 wrist watches news:
As of late, Christopher Ward has taken to generating quite a number of special, limited-edition watches. Some of these have taken the form of honoring military planes of the past, and yet others have delved into the realm of automobile racing, with some of those pieces actually incorporating metal from a specific vintage race car. Now, with their release of the Christopher Ward C8 P7350 Chronometer, we have a watch that carries metal that flew in the Battle of Britain.Given that the Battle of Britain happened in 1940, you might be tempted to think that they simply harvested the metal from a boneyard somewhere. That's actually not the case. There is still a Spitfire ¨C known as P7350, the 14th one to come off the line ¨C that is still in the air as part of the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. As you might imagine, they would not just give up pieces of such a historical plane willy-nilly. Instead, these bits come from a restoration of the plane that occurred back in 2008, and show
I thought I would add to the Benny love. Here are three that I won this month and one that I got soon after I started collecting wrists. They all have issues including 3 brokenmainsprings that I am having trouble finding a source for. This is the prettiest in my opinion. A model AR 1 with a broken staff. An ellegant model AC 8.A model BB 4 with dial issues. And a model BA 4 that I got in a $5 lot when I was just starting to look for victims to practice on. The case doesn't really appeal to me. Sort of homely but it was too complete outside of the broken spring to sacrifice to the steep part of my learning curve. I just stored it away and it has come out to join its brothers.More projects awaiting some free evenings and some luck finding parts.Joel
here it is
The 5165 is the 38mm rather than 40mm version of the Aquanaut with the same style integrated rubber strap. I think this was only produced for about 3 years. Given its relative rarity should one expect it to have higher values in the open market? I'm looking at a potential trade and have no idea what to expect.Any thoughts would be welcomed!
I've always like the clean look of Panerai watches, nice simple, nothing too crazy, and I have been looking for something as a treat for myself recently and was bouncing back and forth between the Yachtmaster, Navitimer, and the Luminor Marina. As you may have already guessed since I am posting in here which one I went with!So I took the plunge yesterday and got my first Panerai!a PAM00499. Looking forward to chatting up with the rest of you guys to learn more about these amazing watches!PS: Where is the best place to get a deployment clasp? I hate having to use the buckle to take this off each time.... Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't want to get a fake, or be duped by a good replica. I want an OEM, brushed finish if possible.
