Seeking shelter and distraction on a windy Sunday, some friends and I purchased tickets to the National Gallery in London to see the highly recommended "Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art" exhibition. When in doubt, spending a few hours in the company of Matisse, Kandinsky, and Gaugin is never time wasted. 1 OF 8 Still shivering from the cold, we made our way down the stone steps of the Museum. Somewhat ironically, it was not Delacroix whom I wanted to see, but Renoir. His version of Delacroix’s The Jewish Wedding In Morocco had recently popped up during my research on the world’s first perpetual calendar wristwatch, a Breguet. Both had been purchased by Mr. Jean Dollfus. Or so I thought. 2 OF 8 The "Dollfus Perpetual Calendar," the world's first perpetual calendar wristwatch. That name was written in ink inside Breguet’s archives next to the sale of said Breguet no. 2516 in 1932. And it was printed, this time in
I had never really liked Patek. As a matter of fact, I never even really looked at the models that they offered, much less look at them at ADs or read the PP forums. For the most part I looked at Pateks as the type of watch that was best for older people. Those who found a REAL watch like a Rolex too heavy. Then one day while reading through a watch magazine, I noticed an ad for the 5960. I think it was the one were a man is showing his son the workings of a motorcycle engine. His left sleeve was pulled back just enough to reveal the 5960, and there was an image of the 5960 at the bottom of the page. That single ad set my heart racing. Everything about the watch just jumped out at me. From the round mushroom like chrono pushers, the display windows, the chrono counter and the way Patek incorporated just little red and blue. It looked so clean and modern, yet the case shape, and pushers looked very classic. Never had a watch made sutch an impression on me. I had seen many good looking wa
P6260003.jpgA buddy of mine was showing me his G Shock and I loved it so yesterday I added another watch to my collection. My first digital. It¡¯s a G Shock 2688. I¡¯m still playing with all the gadgets. From all I¡¯ve read on these watches they seam **** near invincible. Which makes me wonder why James Bond wouldn¡¯t wear a G Shock? Oh yeah, he¡¯s a fictitious character. But if he were real, this would have to be the watch!
Today's token dumb question. Just received my new XS strap for the diver. Removing the strap from the watch is obvious. However, taking the buckle off the other strap is not obvious. How do I do this? TIA
