Smile Confused about which watch to purchase. Help Please!Good Evening,I need help in choosing which watch to purchase. I am relatively young but I enjoy watches. I know I am posting this in a Oris Forum but I just really want some honest advice.I am choosing between Omega, Tag and this company I just heard of today called Oris. Never really heard of it before but seems great, really nice watches and I just need help in deciding. I am willing to spend upward to 2000.00 but don't really want to go over that price at this point.Currently I own a Rolex Submariner and I do like the watch a lot I am just into getting a new watch. What I am looking for however is a larger face to a watch, thickness doesn't really matter but I would like a bigger face than the Submariner. Also Chrono isn't really a big issue for me, I just want a very nice watch. The ones I looked at were the Omega Planet Ocean and Seamaster, which both are really nice watches.Tag on the other hand has very good styles and lo
I just received a call from my Jeweler regarding my Hamilton Lloyd. I wanted to have the case buffed and the watch regulated. While I was there we discussed a movement servicing (at my request) and he gave me a very reasonable estimate.I just received a call with the new figures now that the watch has been looked at by the service center (supposedly the Hamilton service center). The movement service is now quoted at $170 and of course the crystal should be replaced, the dial is showing wear, the case needs work, and a new band is recommended. Frankly, this is highway robbery. I am not that surprised by the movement servicing (or should I be?) - I thought his quote was maybe "too" reasonable, but to try and upsell like this ludicrous! They were recommending over $300 of additional work! This is the first mechanical I have ever had serviced - is this what I get to expect from now on?Does this watch look like a basket case? - B
Starting w my night time favorite. Eco-Drive DiverThe sun is up, so I switched to the Omega PO.
Ok so yesterday my Sister had asked me about watches she never does lol, She wants to buy one for her BF but he wants a Movado part of the sapphire collection but the thing is she can't drop a cool $ 1,500 dollars and top of that his job is'nt fit to wear an expensive watch, So do you guy's have any suggestions on watches that look like the Movado sapphire collection he my sisters BF really like's the mirror finish dial, She wants to stay in the $ 100 to 150 dollar range.
Hi all, new to the forums here....I will be purchasing this watch as my very 1st Rolex on Friday.I will be using it for daily use around the office. My question is: With this being a retired model and with the semi-newly released DJ41 & all of its updated features- Will that have any affect on the value/demand of this model over time? I don't ever plan on selling the watch, but I do want to have the peace of mind of knowing that in a WCS I will always be able to get back what I paid or at least close to it for that matter. Personally, I'm not at all a watch connoisseur so the new movement, refined stick, and other features the DJ41 offers does not appeal to me. I'm strictly going for what is most attractive to me looks wise. I love the thicker case that the DJiis presents and considering it being a bit more inside of my preferred budget I am just about 100% sold on it.Any advice/feedback provided would be greatly appreciated. As I said before, I'm a first time buyer so I would like
