Cartier wr000351 wrist watches news:
In keeping with recent tradition, IWC has put its marketing focus on one watch collection for 2014. This year, it’s the Aquatimer, the brand’s line of divers’ watches. Here are three new models in the revamped Aquatimer collection, which makes its full debut at January’s SIHH watch fair.In a press release for the new Aquatimer collection, IWC reveals that the 2014 Aquatimer watches will be distinguished by a new type of internal/external rotating bezel, will contain even more in-house IWC movements, and will feature a patented IWC bracelet quick-change system. (More info on the new designs and mechanisms for the 2014 Aquatimer collection is available here.) The collection also features several special-edition models devoted to the environmental organizations IWC supports, the Charles Darwin Foundation and the Cousteau Society. As its model name implies, the IWC Aquatimer 2000 (Ref. IW358002) is water-resistant to 2,000 meters, making it more than suitable for pro
For the final exciting iteration of the Horological Machine No. 3, MB&F has partnered with world-renowned Boucheron to create the JwlryMachine. Swiss MB&F who celebrates the art of the machine combines their technology with French Boucheron who celebrates the art of jewelry. The result is an incredible work of three-dimensional art that will be made to order for those who want to add this stunning luxury to their collection. The HM3 watch should require no introduction. It originally came out in two styles which I discussed here, was then offered in another limited edition form as the HM3 Frog here, and you can read a review of mine on the HM3 Sidewinder here.MB&F is known to exchange talent with other highly-respected watch designers. If you recall, Alain Silberstein lent his talents for the creation of a limited edition HM2.2 Black Box watch that I displayed here. They have indicated to me that such collaborations are not only fun, but highly inspiring - so expect more of
Yes, there were electronic Speedmasters. And there still are today, but we'll get to that in a few minutes. But it seems like heresy, doesn't it? A watch with ”®Speedmaster,' even ”®Speedmaster Professional' on the dial while inside beats an electronic heart! And yet, we know from their pursuit of timing excellence (through their work in Olympic competition, among other things) that Omega has always looked for ways to innovate and thus improve. In the 1970s, the Speedmaster was not immune. And indeed, one would have expected as much, given the recent advances Omega had made in Olympic timing, and with the quartz crisis in full swing. While the Speedmaster Professional hand wound Moon Watch and it's mechanical brethren never went out of production, the Speedy also saw unique developments in electronic movements. When we talk about Speedmasters of the electronic age, we're really talking about four calibres and a closely related variation: the 1255, the 1620, the 1660, and the 1666. There wa
Is there a list of Hamilton automatics which have the microrotor movement? I know that a lot of the Thin-O-Matics have this movement, but some do not. Also, there are some which are not Thin-O-Matics which have a microrotor movement.
I read elsewhere on the net a watch brand, known for it's beefy designs, diamonds, quartz movements, that is only sold on TV claims the timepieces are assembled with with Swiss movements under contract in Switzerland. The other components are of the "highest quality," but made elsewhere and imported. The owner of this company says his watches would qualify for the "Swiss Made" logo, but he has chosen not to put it on the timepieces (though he used to tout the quality of his diamonds on the cases). He says he won't use Swiss Made on his watches until every piece (bracelet, screws etc.) is made in Switzerland. It is a personal issue with him.Do you believe him?I find it incredulous. Of course, I have never spoken to the guy - just watched him on TV.
