Hublot 342.CX.130.RX wrist watches news:
The American company Leatherman - known for their very useful folding multi-tools - will soon release a tool-bracelet known as the Tread. The Leatherman Tread will have 11 interchangeable links that each have a few tools such as screwdriver heads of various styles and sizes. Leatherman will offer the Tread as just a bracelet or make it available with an optional watch case - making the Tread a full-fledged timepiece.According to Leatherman, the Leatherman Tread watch will have a total of 25 tools - and the integration of all the tools is rather clever, I must say. Each link, for example, has two tools on either side such as a screw head or a small cutting instrument. The center of the link might be used to unscrew various bolts. It appears as though most of the tools can be used without dissembling the Leatherman Tread merely by taking the bracelet off and folding the links to expose a tool. How comfortable the Leatherman Tread watch will be is another matter. Leatherman has mentioned t
Newer brand, new watch. Cyrus debuted late last year but I never got a chance to really check them out as their timepieces reminded me of wrist-mounted doomsday devices. Their flagship watch is Klepcys (still trying to properly pronounce that one) and it is a formidable piece of unique horology. The master behind the mechanism is Jean-Francois Mojon. One of today's better watch makers who is known for (among other things), the Harry Winston Opus X.In addition to the standard Klepcys watch, Cyrus will be donating a special one to the Only Watch 2011 auction. Images of both are seen here, whereas the piece unique model for the action is in white gold with a red "11." The high-end piece is another attempt on "doing it differently." While I respect the mechanism and concept for some reason the design leaves me a inert. I feel as though I need more time with the watch to appreciate it fully. It does however move me much more than the brand's other watch called the Kuros. We will see what ha
After posting my vintages the other day, I thought I'd share what I learned about my Polerouter...from ninanet.netUG was know for the "microrotor," so the movement itself didn't take up much space. Here is a movement shot of the Polerouter along with some antimagnetic info and the Polerouter Story:Pic and story from polerouter To shortcut the flights from Europe to California (USA) by some thousand kilometers, the airline SAS (Scandinavian Airline System) opened new routes over the North Pole in the Ninteen-Fifties. All crews on these flights had to take part in a special training at the "SAS's Arctic Flight School". The swiss watch manufacturerer Universal Gen¨¨ve provided the crews with automatic precision wrist-watches that are resistent against the strong magnetic field of the polar region. They became the offical chronometers of SAS. On the 15th November 1954 at 19:18 local time the "Helge Viking" (OY-KMI) took off in Copenhagen for the first commercial flight over the North
Dug up an art deco style square watch at my GF's house. The momement is a manual wind and says "Solis" on it, also Swiss made. The hinged case says Emerson W.C. CO, 14k gold rolled gold plate. I imagine that Solis is the make, and Emerson is the case maker. The dial looks like gold leaf with skeleton hands and sub second hand. Any info????
Hey all, haven't been around the block lately but with all this Basel news, I'm genuinely curious; has there been a case redesign?? I've been staring at the new Deep Sea's stock picture and the old one's for about a half hour now trying to discern this mythical change!I am very bitter about the blocky lugs and have nearly sworn off modern Rolex for that reason alone. If this is a return, I am beyond excited but I'm not seeing it.Anyways, I really need to update the signature; I've made some changes to the ol' collection recently!
