Patrizzi & Co. auction of watchmaking masterpieces, Mandarin Hotel, Geneva.
Sponsored PostThe catalogue for Fellows¡¯ 15th April Vintage & Modern Wrist Watches Auction is now available to view online, presenting the usual eclectic mix of watches with something for every budget. That said; collectors looking for something special not will be disappointed. Below we highlight one contemporary watch for men, one for ladies and a vintage gem.The association of watch brands with motorsport can have a numbers of driving factors (if you pardon the pun). I have always been a sucker for 36K VPH movements, especially from Seiko. Over the years, I've owned KS4500, GS4520, GS4522, and GS6146. However, none of these movement were available in 1967, my birth year. Only two 36K VPH from Seiko were available in that year, 6159 and 5740c. Here it is, Lord Marvel 36000 from 1967. It is 35mm (a tad small and gold plated), but hey, it is 43 years old so can't be too choosy.
Does anyone knows why a quartz watch like this is so expensive (more than 3,550 US$ is the cheapest I found on-line)? By the way, I had already asked this as a part of a different conversation in a thread which is in the general forum but I think there the question is too hidden to be seen, I don't know whether I am supposed to edit my original post in the general forum.GLF
Really having some trouble here. I have the spring compressor fork tool which has worked for me easily on my other watches but I can't seem to get the band off my Longines. There doesn't seem to be enough space between the lugs and the groove on the spring for me to get the tool in. Any tips? This is my watch:
