Hublot 341.CG.1110.LR.1922 wrist watches news:
Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver teamed up with players from Manchester United in New York City recently for the Hublot Million Dollar Challenge. The event, staged between the Flatiron and Empire State buildings, drew over 1500 people and raised funds for United for UNICEF, the English club’s charity. Manchester United stars including Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Darren Fletcher, and Edwin Van de Sar were on hand, as was team manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The stars tried their best to score a million dollar shot by hitting a small target with the ball. Goalie Edwin van de Sar came the closest, missing by a mere 3 inches. Regardless of the final score, Mr. Biver decided to write a check for $110,008 to United for UNICEF, which has raised more than 4 million dollars. “It’s one hundred thousand from Hublot, ten thousand from me and 8 dollars because it’s a lucky number”, he said to the roar of the crowd.Sir Alex Ferguson who was mobbed with love by New York lovers of soccer said: “I love the Hublot

i just recieved my new black monster - love it BUT after only having it a few hours its gaining 6 minutes an HOUR.The manual does state that if the watch isnt charged properly ( ie: worn for 8 hours a day) it main lose or gain times excessively - im hoping that because ive only had it on for a few hours from new ( where it may have been sitting on a shelf for months) this is the case but 6 minutes is hell of a lot of time to lose per hour.I may have to return it.Any and all ideas are welcome
Since I don't have a camera currently, I thought I'd do a State of the Collecting post. Here're some current thoughts I have about watches in 2008:1. Lume is over-rated for an urbanite.2. I like small, elegant, light. 3. Dive watches are more jewelry than tool, mostly.4. I still don't understand mechanical watches.5. More often than not, the clasp/tang buckle tells us more than we care to know about a watch (e.g. price point, age, genre)6. There is no perfect watch, only the next one.7. Staring at someone's watch can be discomforting for the owner, esp. if it's someone you've just met.8. Sometimes, ugly watches take on a beauty all of their own.9. The difference between a $500 and a $5000 watch is never a question of being "worth it" but "like it enough".And lastly,10. Watching is a hobby that should bring smiles, not grief to our lives. Life is crazy enough as it is.I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about the hobby for 2008.
Thanks everyone who voted in my museum trip poll. Today is the road trip to Geneva. I'll be posting live updates, but probably no pictures from inside the Patek Museum as photography is not allowed.Yesterday I confirmed via email that they are open and time of the tour. I also fueled up this beauty. Originally I planed to used DB trains, but when I got this rental I decided to change to driving.
