- I didn't feel the watch looked as fancy in its picture. I wanted something much more casual. Therefore, I am in the cess of returning the watch.

Hello there,I have a question regarding Omega watches in Ebay. Let's say you buy an used omega from a seller and he claim the authenticity of the watch. But he doesn't provide a box or papers. What happens if I need service for the watch. 1. Will any of Omega official services accept and repair it? 2. What was are usually the cost of maintance at Omega? Let's say cleansing for example, ?thank in advancedisco
While on a recent trip to NY I bought a seamaster 300m chrono diver. I was told it was genuine and paid by credit card. It turns out now to be fake and I 'm wondering if anything can be done. I'm more disappointed at myself as I would normally research such a thing but this was a spur of the moment purchase. Are there any consumer laws that protect me here or is purely buyer beware? I won't be back in NY in the near future either. Any thoughts would greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Well, this is my first post here after discovering these forums a month or so back and lurking for a while, so I've decided to post after getting my Bell-matic back. After pretty much wearing this watch for most of my childhood years (and now looking back I'm very surprised it took the beating that it did with me being an active kid and all), with it eventually sitting in a draw for another 7 (no idea why I suddenly stopped wearing it), I dug it out a few months back and sent it off for repair (unfortunately I took no before pics, kinda kicking myself as it would have shown the state it was previously in!). Yesterday I got it back and I'm very happy to be wearing it again. I also feel now at 17 I can appreciate it more (especially after doing a bit of research and finding that they're quite collectable) compared to when I was a kid at say 7 or 8 years old.If I'm honest, if it was any other watch I doubt I'd pay the amount I did to get it fixed, but it has a lot of sentimental value. This watch gained fame a few years ago when it was on the cover of the Wristwatch Annual. What are your thoughts? Opinions? I like it quite a bit, but would love to hear your thoughts.Sothis * Chronograph HORUSThanks!
Watch is about 15 years old - this will be its 3rd service (last 2 were through Omega in Beverly Hills and it has been 5 years since the last one). It was losing about 20 seconds/day, so definitely due for service. Omega website says $675 for basic service. The list below is quoted by Hyde Park (Denver) at $760. Is there more on this list than would normally be required? Polishing is another $150. Any concerns about Hyde Park? I am not sure if I will polish or not.Service quote:Includes the disassembly, cleaning, adjustment and replacement of worn internal components.Includes all gaskets and case adjustments necessary to ensure the water resistance of the timepiece.Includes mainspring, barrel and arborIncludes dial repair (center and align)Includes hands repair (tighten and align)Includes stem replacement Includes case repair Includes push button repair Includes riveting 8 weeks from the date of approval is required for this process.
