IWC IW378101 wrist watches news:
I picked up my first Rolex watch. It is a two tone submariner that started as a stainless watch. The bezel was replaced with a gold bezel and the bracelet was replaced with a two tone Rolex bracelet. As far as I can tell, these are authentic Rolex parts. I was told the watch was serviced late 2011. I will post photos as soon as I can. I am mostly interested in whether or not this will be considered Franken as it was altered from it's original state. I will service this watch before diving with it. It seems to be running well and keeping great time. Any thoughts? Thanks,Jeff
HiI have several Elgin Movements sizes 3/0s, 6/0s and 8/0s that I would like to put into wrist watch cases. Does any one know a good source for cases?ThanksTony
This watch has a great history: my grandfather acquired it in the mid to late 1960's and unfortunately passed away in a plane crash while wearing the watch. The watch was recovered from the crash and my grandmother kept it in a box for about 50 years. I'm a watch nut (duh), so when my mother found it among my grandmothers things a few years ago she gave it to me. The watch was incredibly in near mint condition and I have kept it pristine. It just got back from its 5 year service, enjoy!
This Speedy Pro Broadarrow Moonphase is one of my favorite watches to look at in my small collection. The only Chronograph I own, as well as the only moonphase. Problem is - I don't wear it. It's a manual wind, the date / moon are set with a pusher, so whenever the power reserve runs out, it becomes a task to get it up to date. Last time I used a chronograph function, I timed a hard-boiled egg for my daughter - other than that, I have no need for the function. I just love to look at it, as it is an absolutely stunning watch. Perfect size too, nice and thick. I just never wear it.... Such a shame. So, lately I've been thinking about letting it go, so it finds a good home and an owner who actually uses it. Am I nuts? This is the watch (not my pic)
I¡¯m trying to get the most recent version of the 116718.....What year was the last change made to this watch? Thanks.
