IWC IW376703/10 wrist watches news:
I saw this on another forum and thought you all would get a good chuckle. Apparently Rolex is made in the UK.video.google/videoplay?do...ew&vt=lf&hl=en
This program was very popular after WW2:March 18, 2008 The War Veterans Watchmaker Initiative, in conjunction with the American Watch Guild, will be launching The Watchmaker and Technician Training Program for Disabled War Veterans and War Veterans. With the number of practicing watchmakers at an all-time-low of 4,400, the goal of the program is to help replenish the shortage of watchmakers and watch technicians. So far, the program has accomplished the following:* Bob Filotei, national director of the program, is in communication with 11 U.S. horological schools, which will donate scholarships, tools and materials.* Letters have been sent to horological schools announcing the initiative.* A Web site is being built that will be the focal point for war veterans, horological schools, manufacturers and retailers. In addition, watch retailers and service centers will be enlisted to apprentice interested veterans for a 2-4 week period. The veterans will work side-by-side with watch technicians
Does anyone know where I could buy a cheaper version of a watch that looks like this, face/band and all? It can even be the same one but at a cheaper price, any help? It's a Guess cuffband watch, not sure of the model number
So it seems the message boards are active with all the talk about upcoming 5711/12 steel price increases and concern whether it is selective or will be across the board on all Nautilus or all sport or all steel or all men's, etc etc models. It would seem to me that if the goal were to diminish the 2nd hand/grey market-reseller position, then PP price increases would be selective to those models that resell for a premium greater than retail price. This isnt a perfect science however as the 5712/1A tends to sell slightly below retail and it appears to be subject to the price increase. We all know about 5711 being the prototypical example selling for 40-60% premium above retail. BUT, what are the other models in similar situations and what percent above retail do they resell for?
