Late last year, our trusty producer, Will, and I had the joy of traveling to Germany to visit the folks from NOMOS Glash¨¹tte ¨C a brand that is no stranger to us at HODINKEE, or you, as readers of HODINKEE. NOMOS is a small independent watch brand of roughly 260 employees based in Berlin and Glash¨¹tte with a very simple goal ¨C to make (mostly) in-house, affordable, and well-designed wristwatches. I'm afraid that I'm addicted to Sinn U1's. It all started with the taste of a Sinn U1 SDR, then a U1 and now a U1 W limited edition. When all of this started all I really wanted was a regular U1. The U1, in any variation, is a winner! Cheers, Bill P.

5565a - Thoughts (part two)
Ok - so I also came across this 5565a. Again the first I have seen of this watch. And I have to say I like it. A lot. Apparently it was a special edition to commemorate the reopening of the Geneva salon. It's 36mm which isn't overly small in my opinion. The dial is simple yet elegant with a sporty flair. I have not heard it mentioned on this site. So again - what does TRF think?

My first Rolex - Datejust 41 - Complete U turn on the brand!
Very proud to say that I have my first Rolex :)It's been an odd journey to get me here. I spent years not caring for the brand at all, there wasn't a single piece that stuck out for me. The height of my collection has been around Omegas and Tags. Maybe once I became a little older and wiser, I started appreciated some models, specifically the Datejust 41 and BLNR. As time went on I started to like them even more, the beautiful subtleness of the DJ41, the detail and quality of the Oyster bracelet, the statement that is the bezel of the BLNR. It all just started to make sense why the brand is so highly regarded.I made the decision to go with the DJ41, Black, Smooth Bezel with Oyster. That configuration gives me exactly what I'm looking for in a watch at the moment. An all rounder, to be worn in and out of work, smart or casual. Anyway enough of my rambling! Here are some pics :)
