Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we are speaking with Tim Gr?nefeld, the younger of the two brothers at the helm of their eponymous company, Gr?nefeld Watches. Read on to learn about the path his education took, as well as what watch he still hopes to pick up some day.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Tim Gr?nefeld: I am Tim Gr?nefeld, born in The Netherlands in 1972. At an early stage, I was already involved with watches. My grandfather started his watch Atelier in 1912, and later - in the sixties - my parents took over his Atelier and shop. At a very early age, I was playing in the workshop. I was always interested in all the tools, clocks, and watches.ABTW: Sounds like a perfect environment to start off in, given what you do today. When did things change from playing in
So after acquiring my AP elephant recently I've been very happy with it and is getting along with the scratches better however, I'll be graduating my bachelor degree in two months and considering making one last change in my collection before continuing my master in Berlin next year so I wanted your opinion my current collection consist of a corum bubble, AP elephant, gmt master 2 tone, and hulk. I'll never be trading my hulk since it's my first watch with my name on the card. However, I'm considering adding an omega speed master or a PAM 372 or Pam 292 on a brown strap which I've been eyeing a few years back if go panerai i'll he leaning on the 292 however, I've notice that the price of panerai is going had so if not these choices should I flip my AP elephant to a 44 novelty steel? Or gmt master to a twotone racing dial daytona? or lastly get a bracelet to go with the elephant instead ? What would ur choices be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am new to collecting and would like your opinion(s) on a Speedmaster cal 861, circa early 1970's, that I recently purchased. The previous owner replaced the hands and hazelite crystal but, all else remains original including the dial. It came with its original bracelet but I put on a nice alligator band because I love the look and also so that I don't mess up the bracelet. All is in excellent vintage condition including the bracelet which show very little signs of wear. The opinions as the the following will be greatly appreciated.1. Does the replacement of the hands with new affect the value?2. What is your opinion as to its value with the new hands?3. What do you think the value would be if it was completely original.
Hello and happy holidays watch nuts! A while back I posted about my Nebraska AD having a new model Daytona in stock. Once again my AD amazes me. They have a new (old stock) old model Seadweller 116600 for sale. Here is the best part! Ready? My AD has the watch pink tagged they have it discounted to $9,600 dollars because it is discontinued and less valuable!!If anyone would like to procure this, please feel free to PM me. I hate to see this opportunity go to waste. Unfortunately for me, my wife says enough is enough!
