IWC IW3784-03 wrist watches news:
I've got an early calibre 353 which I recently had serviced and am wondering if I should be limiting my hand winding of it. I only wear it a few times a month (Fridays being vintage watch day or maybe on a Saturday night out) and generally give it 10 winds to get it going. My everyday watch is a Tissot with an ETA 2836-2, which I read somewhere can be damaged by too much hand winding, so I was worried about damaging the Omega (I've also got a Cyma Watersport with a 420 movement for which I have the same concern). Any advice is appreciated!
I was at a local Rolex dealer today looking at a Submariner "No Date". The employee working at the store told me that Rolex is planning on continuing to make the "No Date" Sub exactly the way it is now with none of the changes the newer stainless Sub Date has. Has anyone been hearing the same thing from your Rolex dealer?

Adam has mentioned how important it is to do your homework. Here's a perfect example:I want a caliber 30L for my Longines collection. I recently had one bought unseen which turned out not to be what I was looking for. It wasn't in the type of condition I would feel comfortable selling it in, so I had it serviced and restored. After eBay and Paypal took their cuts and my watchmaker got paid, at least I nearly got my money back out of it. I took a gamble that didn't hurt too much because I knew the movement was sought after. Now that it's sold, I started to hunt it's replacement. I thought I found it with this watch:Vintage LONGINES Silver Arrow, 18 kts gold, excellent - eBay (item 230494786557 end time Jul-09-10 12:54:34 PDT)Nice, right? Well, not after hearing back from Fr¨¦d¨¦ric at Longines:serial number 13'848'672 identify :Wristwatch in steel with leather band, reference 8903It has a movement caliber 30LIt was invoiced to Messrs P¨¦russet who were for many years our agents for
I've been eying vintage Hamilton watches for the past 5 years and am now seriously considering a purchase, however I'm worried that the nature of my work will cause undue pressure to the watch (I do factory work and constantly move my hands). Can any one clarify if constant/excessive hand movement will negatively affect the watch's mechanics? Also, if a vintage watch isn't suitable for wear at work would a modern automatic be okay? I've I'm also interested in some modern watches but the vintage ones are much cooler.
