IWC IW371802 wrist watches news:
One year ago today, the world of horology lost its greatest designer - Gerald Genta.? Responsible for more iconic designs than any other man in the history of timepieces, his trademark aesthetics are ingrained in countless watches we see, and speak of every single day.In an incredibly detailed and revealing interview just published via Greek watch blog VeryImportantWatches, Mr. Genta opens up about his earliest days - when he was getting paid 15 CHF to sell designs to American brands and Swiss suppliers - to how he designed the Royal Oak in a single night.? He mentions many of his less well-known work, like that of his Cellini for Rolex, a limited edition Seiko, oh, and a digital watch for Timex that was made in a very limited run of just 30,000,000 watches.? The article is not available online, so you must download a PDF.? This is an article you need to read if you have an interest in 20th century watches, design, or Genta himself.? I got this idea from another thread where someone remarked that a Cartier Blue was "girly" As a philosopher, it made me think. I think it is a very good topic.I think what was meant here by "girly" is 'lacking in maleness.' Let's say that is our working definition.I do think that many men wear certain watches to 'project maleness.' And I think we could agree on many watches that do this.I've never been one to worry much about 'maleness.' I've always noticed people like Ringo Starr who wore a ring on every finger. Some would say that this is not a projection of 'maleness.' But Ringo is married to Barbara Bach - maybe one of the hottest playmates of all time and a 'Bond girl.' So, I guess he was 'male' after all. I've always considered myself 'flamboyant'. I was a sports star when young - including football where I played offense and defense and special teams to the point that I never sat on the bench, so probably no one who knew me would have thought I lacked 'maleness.' I was just show
Any suggestions for a low cost aviator watch? I'm training to become a pilot, and I notice that cool watches are a must among pilots . Besides, my old watch is falling apart. My budget is $120. I don't want some flashy gold jewelry thing, I'd rather something with more of a tactical look. I know nothing about watches, so all advice is welcome and appreciated.
Two weeks ago I was married and my photographer snapped this pic. Just wanted to share with my fellow Patek fans
