IWC 2544961 wrist watches news:
My father in law is in the market for a 40th anniversary speedmaster. great looking watch, just want some professional feedback from you all on the movement, caliber 1861 and reliability.Thoughts?!?!Thanks
Since I skipped any kind of intro, I thought I'd go back and write one .I haven't been buying watches for very long...but so far it's been really fun to pick up a watch here and there when one catches my eye. I don't really look for one brand over another, and while I can appreciate a nice movement, I'm probably more of a case/dial guy. Most of the time, the watches that really appeal to me are pre-'60.Here are a few of my watches to show the kind of stuff I'm into.
Well, these arrived today:But the Wittnauer has an issue. When I started winding it, first nothing was happening, and I wasn't hearing that little click, click when I held it to my ear as I wound it. Also, it didn't start. After a few more turns of the crown, the crystal popped off.So, I tried a little experiment, and wound the crown with the movement out of the case and crystal. Worked like a charm, clicking, running, etc.So, I tried to put the crystal back on, lining up the little nubs that go around the stem, and it snapped back on. However, it now won't wind again, and there is a gap on the stem side of the case, and I can easily pop the crystal off with a fingernail. So here are my thoughts:A: This watch does not have the proper stem and/or crown, preventing the crown from being pushed in far enough to wind, and preventing the crystal from popping all the way onB: It either has the wrong crystal, I'm not getting the little spot on the crystal for the stem lined up just perfe
can we get a list of all the abreviations our members use,and on this list can we get the explaination for what they are abreviating?I just want to be able to understand what's being discussed, dang near everybody throws the abreviations in and in the process, looses some of us less traveled members. Can I fit a new Omega 1171 bracelet with 633 end pieces on a new 2016 Speedmaster? I'm sure I can but thought I had better double check first. I much prefer the look of 1171 bracelet - it looks more vintage.Thank you
